XR1000 Ping Heat & Geo-Location Issues

Recommended Posts

Ok, as the title says, I'm having ping heat and Geo problems, as in, they don't work anymore. I'm on FW 1.0.0.64_1.0.49

I have factory reset from the interface, and have re-installed the latest FW. Nothing has worked. I see that I'm not the only person having this issue.

Ping heat I get this - Cloud data has not been downloaded. Make sure you have an internet connection and click FORCE UPDATE.

When I click on force update, I get this - The operation is taking longer than expected. Please briefly wait before using this Rapp.

When I go to Geo, there's this at the bottom of the screen -  THE GEO-FILTER WAS NOT ABLE TO ACCESS THE CLOUD. PLEASE ENSURE YOU HAVE AN ACTIVE INTERNET CONNECTION. IF THE PROBLEM PERSISTS, CONTACT SUPPORT.

I have tried using the polygon and I thought it was gonna work, but no, it didn't. Now I'm getting this in an endless loop -     RPC error 'ERROR_UNKNOWN': Unterminated JSON encoded object found at position in [] -> stack traceback: ?: in function <?:73> [C]: in function 'assert' ?: in function 'decode' ?: in function <?:122> ?: in function <?:370> [C]: in function 'xpcall' ?: in function 'try' ?: in function <?:334> [C]: in function 'run' ?: in function <?:413> [C]: in function 'xpcall' ?: in function 'try' ?: in function <?:267> (tail call): ? ?: in function <?:29> [C]: in function 'xpcall' ?: in main chunk [C]: ?

I have tried using Chrome (my main) and edge. Both yield the same results. Also, the DumaOS interface is SUPER SLOW compared to my XR500. Why is this so damn slow? I beginning to wonder if I've wasted $300 on this brick.

I've never had this much trouble with a router before in my life

Welcome to the forum!

I believe it may be due to the cloud in which case we should be able to fix it fairly easily without a firmware upgrade, another user on the XR1000 mentioned the .52 firmware fixed it, could you try that in the meantime please?

Thanks Fraser,

.52 is working. Not to thrilled to have to step down in fw on a $300+ router. I'm also concerned that another issue like this will arise. When will there be a fix for this?

Ok. After further poking around, it seems that QoS is kinda broken. When I load that page, I get a "Device Not Found" message, and the Traffic Prioritization is blank with a spinning circle.

What to do now?

As it is the weekend the team will see the issue on Monday and assuming it is a cloud issue like I think it is then they should be able to resolve it within the day.

We always recommend factory resetting after a firmware upgrade/downgrade as it clears out any issues that could carry over so I expect that will be resolved once you do so.
