DumaOppsKnowiGotADuma? :)
What's up team, So I've been having issues with hybrid vpn. I actually bought PureVPN hoping it would be easier than the last vpn i was using - surfshark. I just have a few questions regarding the hybrid vpn setup on dumaOS. 1. When setting up in advance settings, I understand i have to use the open vpn configuration files. I guess my question is, is does this file contain a specific geolocation within the file AND how can I decipher where this location is? With surfsharks config files it allowed me to download the specific file to the specific area(city/country) that I wanted..but, with purevpn its a huge folder that contains the config files, but they don't tell you the location that they are for. Is there a way to tell just by looking at the config file? 2. When running hybrid vpn on dumaos, if i change my geofilter on the dumaos software do i need to change my vpn location as well? Example: Im currently in US, but wanted to change my geofilter to france... Do i need to find a vpn config file for France before i change my geofilter on dumaOS?# Does this need to happen every time i change my geofilter location? I know I sound like a noob... and its because i am haha. Hopefully someone can help me out, and hopefully this thread helps someone else in the future! Happy Gaming & thanks in advance for your time! Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted April 10, 2022 Administrators Share Posted April 10, 2022 I don't know if PureVPN tell you specifically but basically you look at the first few letters of each file so for example, au would be Australia and all the ones with au would be different locations. Unnecessarily difficult to tell them apart I do agree. It really depends what you're using the VPN for, if you're just using it for security purposes for example you could keep the VPN on a US server for lower ping. If you're using it to try and get bot lobbies (which is not something we condone and therefore don't support) then I'd assume you would do the opposite to be more effective. DumaOppsKnowiGotADuma? :)
Gotcha! I figured all the other stuff out but I'm having trouble connecting the hybrid vpn to literally every server I try. I put in my purevpn credentials, copy and paste the configuration files, hit the connect button, and then it will be stuck on "connecting" OR it will say " connected" but absolutely nothing happens in the logs - so i can't tell if im actually connected. Any tips?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted April 10, 2022 Administrators Share Posted April 10, 2022 The logs aren't working at the moment which is fixed for the next version, when it says Connected you're all good to go, then you just need to add your device to the right side for it to apply correctly
DumaOppsKnowiGotADuma? :)
Ughh, it connected once. Now, every time I try it fails..? I've rebooted router and even factory reset. Still nothing
