eswin286
I've been using a Netduma R2 with a Virgin Superhub 3 for the last year or so with no issues that couldn't be fixed by rebooting either. The R2 is firmware 3.0.394 . For some reason, today I lost all internet connectivity through my Netduma R2, even though the router wifi still shows up on all of my devices, and I can still access the internet through the heap of junk aka the Superhub. . I can still access the router interface, though when I do it says WAN IP disconnected. I have tried using different ethernet cables, turning off IPv6, and factory resetting both the R2 and the Superhub to no avail, as well as switching them off at mains for periods of 10 minutes to an hour. The ONLY thing I can think of that changed was I switched to a new package with VM (they offered me same speeds and a telly box thing for a tenner less than I was paying, I wasn't going to say no). Any ideas what this problem could actually be and/or how to solve it? If more info is needed I'll be happy to post it, and thank you in advance for any advice
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted February 26, 2022 Administrators Share Posted February 26, 2022 Hey, welcome to the forum! Sorry to hear you're having this issue. It sounds like the VM has stopped giving out an IP address which is why the R2 lost connection - have you disabled DHCP on the hub? If you access the hub do you see the R2 as a connected device? If so does it have an IP? If you can give the R2 a static/reserved IP on the hub and then reboot the R2 and see if you get a connection.
eswin286
The hub detects the R2 as 'Dumaos', yes and it has an IP address. I'll try this fix in the morning as I'm at my wit's ends with it. I also appreciate the quick response, thank you so much Fraser.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted February 26, 2022 Administrators Share Posted February 26, 2022 Okay great so set that as static/reserved, then reboot the R2 and make sure the R2 in WAN Settings is set to DHCP and apply if it isn't already and you should be good to go. No worries!
eswin286
Just so there's no misunderstanding here, you want me to disable DHCP on the hub, reserve the R2's IP address, switch the hub back into modem mode, reboot the R2 and see if that works? Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted February 26, 2022 Administrators Share Posted February 26, 2022 Not quite, on the hub just give the R2 a static/reserved IP address don't change anything else, then reboot the R2 and see if it works
eswin286
I have no idea why this worked but it's worked, I didn't realise it was that easy outside of modem mode!
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted February 26, 2022 Administrators Share Posted February 26, 2022 Great to hear that! I personally have mine set up like that with my VM hub and find it works better than modem mode
