Mike404xx
If I hook my modem directly into my computer and run a speed test, I get exactly 15 ping every time. When I plug the router in and connect my computer via ethernet, and run the same speed test, I get 21 ping every time. Is there a reason it is doing this? Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted February 20, 2022 Administrators Share Posted February 20, 2022 Hey, welcome to the forum! The modem is just providing internet to the PC, no routing is involved so using the router would be a little higher but shouldn't really be that much. What speedtest are you running and are you using the exact same server?
Mike404xx
I’m using speedtest.net. Yes I’m using the same server as well. You think the 6ms is unavoidable then?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted February 20, 2022 Administrators Share Posted February 20, 2022 Too early to say, I would expect it to be slightly more than from the modem - did you do the test through the router when nothing else was using bandwidth?
