Predict
Hello again, after doing the firmware update and fixing my other problem I went to put my VPN configuration and once I did and enabled VPN it just kept saying connecting so I waited for 5 minutes and it never connected. Could anyone help me?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted December 9, 2021 Administrators Share Posted December 9, 2021 Did you use the basic or Advanced setup? If the Advanced what provider are you using and can you provide the config you're using please? Did a log appear in the log tab? - I suspect not so don't worry if there isn't. I used advanced setup, I am using Surfshark and before the firmware update it always connected and there was no logs
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted December 9, 2021 Administrators Share Posted December 9, 2021 Did you factory reset after the update? You may need to enter the VPN IP you're using in the DNS section in the Hybrid VPN menu for it to work

You should just be able to take the IP from the config and then enter it into the DNS and you should be good to go

Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted December 9, 2021 Administrators Share Posted December 9, 2021 Thanks for that, researching it a little more looks like they have a feature called Smart DNS that will generate a DNS address for you that you use. Follow that then input the address into the DMZ section on HybridVPN https://support.surfshark.com/hc/en-us/articles/360018689853-How-to-activate-Surfshark-smart-DNS-

Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted December 10, 2021 Administrators Share Posted December 10, 2021 Just to double check, are you using the username/password from the credentials tab on the Router setup method page on Surfshark? Heatmap could be failing as the VPN connection hasn't succeeded, if you disconnect that does it work?
