Resul
I have the same problem as other people in the forum. I turned the modem from my ISP to bridge modus. When I try to connect to my R2 router I get “ Could not detect an internet connection” WIFI is showing in the WIFI list and I have acces to it, but without a internet connection. What is the exact problem and how can I get acces to internet??
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 15, 2021 Administrators Share Posted January 15, 2021 Hey, welcome to the forum! Sorry to hear you're having this issue. Do you know if you require anything such as PPPoE, VLAN etc for a connection? If you disable bridge mode on the ISP router do you get a connection through the R2? Resul
Hey, Thanks for your reply. When I put my modem back to normal (without bridge modus), the r2 router doesn’t get any connection eigther. I don’t have any PPPoE etc. My ISP is Ziggo and I am using a Connectbox Giga as my modem. Is there any other solutions? I have acces to the interface but without any internet connection.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 15, 2021 Administrators Share Posted January 15, 2021 Upgrade to the latest version here: then do a factory reset and see if you get a connection please.
Resul
I have now a internet connection while my modem/router isn’t in bridge modus. I also did the filmware update. I will use the R2 router for FIFA 21 on the PS4. Do I need to turn off some settings from the modem/router of my ISP for online gaming? Just things like UPNP Or DHCP settings etc. Will it cause problems?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 15, 2021 Administrators Share Posted January 15, 2021 Put the R2 WAN IP from the System Information page into the ISP router DMZ and then you should be fine.
Resul
Hi, The R2 WAN IP is the IP that my ISP modem has given to the R2. I have put that in DMZ now. I also have some other questions about my log en ping that is showing in the geo-filter. In the log file of the R2 router I noticed that every 20 30 seconds it gets te text “try send to failed to send 12 packets? Is there someting wrong? When I am searching for a game in fifa, it show around 10500 ping etc? Is this normal? I did search for the closest servers though. I don’t know if there is something wrong with the geo-filter? Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 15, 2021 Administrators Share Posted January 15, 2021 I wouldn't worry about the log file too much, they show a lot of background processes that can appear like issues when they aren't. Do you notice any packet loss? Seems like you may have with that ping, could you provide a screenshot showing that ping please?
Resul
The high ping shows up on the duos app. When I am on my pc and search for a game on ps4, it shows than correctly around 20ms. Even I have put the R2 router on DMZ, I still have delay etc in most of my games? I use QoS and geo filter..
Resul
I also have problems when I join a party on the ps4. It just says nat type problems. I have to test my connection several times on the ps4 and join back to fix the problem..
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 17, 2021 Administrators Share Posted January 17, 2021 The high ping on the app is a current bug, that will be fixed, as you've seen the ping is much lower when seen on a PC. 20ms is a really good ping, are you using QoS? Have you added your friends to the Geo-Filter allow list? If not you will need to do that and then it will work.
Resul
Yes I am using QoS. I did this for my ps4 but still get delay in most games. another thing is that when I start FIFA21, the geo-filter shows 3 servers nearby. Usually it trows me in US or server in germany. Yesterday I have played once in the servers of Paris and was smooth gameplay, but it doesn’t search for that one. Is there a way I can connect to that server manually or something? When I start FIFA it pop up but cant play in the server or something?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 17, 2021 Administrators Share Posted January 17, 2021 Reduce your radius so it just covers the server you want, make sure ping assist is set to 0. Quit the game to the console dashboard then wait 2 minutes and boot it up again, it should force you onto that server.
