Brand New R2 is not giving me internet through wired or wireless.

Greetings,

Just received my R2 and I can't get anything out of it. Plugged it up by the book and nothing at all. Been reading up on other forum post with similar issues and I come to a conclusion. Many of the post mentioned connecting a PC through wires ethernet and I currently don't have a PC with an ethernet port. Currently have a Mac Pro and Microsoft Surface both of which don't come with the port. So I'm curious if I'm out of luck until I get a computer that has a port so I can access the Dumas IP address or if their are alternative solutions? Was hoping it would be plug and play with no issues. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Too add some more detail:

ISP: AT&T Fiber

Setup:AT&T Modem>Wall activated internet Jack in another room>R2 Router.

Recently had this internet installed and I asked the tech if I'm able to plug my router directly into the wall jack since the AT&T wifi modem is across the house in a closet and they told me every available Wall jack is functional and that I can plug a router into any of them and it will receive internet. We'll I previously had a brand new TP Link router plugged directly into the wall as directed and it worked no issue. Plug and play. So I expected the R2 to do the same and as of now it isn't.

Hey, welcome to the forum!

Sorry to hear you're having this issue. It will work with that wall jack but the Setup Wizard for the R2 needs to be completed before you can access the internet through it. Currently this has to be completed using a wired device unfortunately.

I did some searching and apparently they have USB to Ethernet adapters so I'm gonna head out today and pick one of those up and give you a ring with an update. Thanks for the guidance though!

All good to go. The USB ethernet adapter worked like a dream and the setup popped up immediately upon connecting the R2. So far so good. All my devices are connected and I'm now diving into the OS settings. Much appreciated and looking forward to amazing things with this router.

I will note one Issue I am having is I notice when my 2nd PS5 is turned on I lose all internet from the R2 and I have to reset power to get it back. I'm trying to set a static IP and for whatever reason my PS5 just isn't taking the IP that I'm choosing. Tried multiple IPs and I've made sure to reserve each one in the Duma DHCP settings. Never had an issue in the past setting a static and I feel having these reserved IPs will fix my multi console issue.

Glad to hear you got it working with the adapter.

That is a weird issue. How is the console connected, via ethernet or WiFi? Is it connecting using automatic or manual network settings? Does the router have the chance to give it an IP in the Device Manager? If so give it the one it already has.

They are both wired ethernet. They're both automatic atm because I can't for the life of me set static IPs for them on the Duma OS. Unless I'm doing something wrong but I've done it for years no problem. The main PS5 is able to recieve an ip no problem. Just when the second comes in is when things go haywire. I'm not able to set a static for any device under the DHCP settings. If I give it the IP assigned in the device manager, what's to day that IP won't change? I'm guessing after the lease is up.

Setting a Static/Reserved IP means it will keep that IP address through DHCP renewals so you don't need to worry about it changing. You do it by going to DHCP, ticking the checkbox for the device, then entering the end of the IP.
