Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted November 4, 2020 Administrators Share Posted November 4, 2020 What is the model of your Internet Provider router? Have you changed any settings on it to help with NAT - modem, bridge modem, DMZ etc? If not you will need to do one of those. Who is your internet provider also? Lanzo101
I’m about to switch to CommunityFibre tomorrow, but I haven’t tried any of them things as I don’t have a clue how to or what they are, I bought this router to get a very good ping for when I’m playing Call Of Duty, While still wanting to have high download speeds on my Xbox console as well, But already running into this problem with double NAT which is causing me to not be able to talk in parties with friends. Just want to try and fix this problem.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted November 4, 2020 Administrators Share Posted November 4, 2020 Take the WAN IP shown in the System Information page on the R2, access your ISP router and enter it into the DMZ section on there. Reboot the R2 and that should resolve the double NAT.
Lanzo101
Will that affect me getting the best ping possible or my download/upload speeds as I want them to remain the same?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted November 4, 2020 Administrators Share Posted November 4, 2020 No that won't affect anything of that nature, they should both stay the same.

Settings should largely be the same, using the Geo-Filter to find the closest servers and using QoS settings which get your Ping Under Load test as low/stable as possible on Connection Benchmark. When we are able to test the game/console then we can advise a bit more if needed.
Lanzo101
Just wanted to say I tried to put the WAN IP into the DMZ section on my ISP but it won’t work I have put it in the destination IP but is it meant to be in the source IP or destination? Lanzo101
The Destination IP address doesn’t work when I write the destination IP into it maybe I got things wired up incorrectly I dunno, but I have my ISP router which has two ethernet ports, 1 port going to my modem for my fibre internet connection and the other going to my R2 into the WAN port and then my Xbox, TV & PC connected to my R2 router through the LAN ports, However I get no success of internet connection. Lanzo101
It just seems like problem after problem & it feels like I wasted my money on this R2 as I can’t get use out of it now, if it helps the make of my ISP Router is a Linksys VELOP shown in the picture on this comment
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted November 5, 2020 Administrators Share Posted November 5, 2020 What is the IP address you're entering in there exactly and can you take a screenshot of the System Information page please?
Lanzo101
That’s my WAN IP i restarted and now the wifi is working however I still have a double NAT, which won’t go by using the DMZ and inputting the WAN IP that is working now into the destination IP Address on the DMZ page of my ISP router
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted November 5, 2020 Administrators Share Posted November 5, 2020 What is the model of the modem that you are using?
Lanzo101
The model my ISP uses is ADTRAN & the Router is Linksys
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted November 5, 2020 Administrators Share Posted November 5, 2020 Does it have a model number? Does it provide WiFi? Could you provide a picture of the front and back where the ports are please?
Lanzo101
the modem doesn’t provide the WiFi it just connects the router to the full fibre cable outside of the house, The internet comes from the router which the model number is: Linksys WHW03 V2
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted November 5, 2020 Administrators Share Posted November 5, 2020 Could you provide the model and the pictures please? If it is providing any sort of UPnP etc then that will be the cause of the double NAT so need to rule that out.
Lanzo101
How do I check if it’s providing UPnP and would I need to deactivate it if that’s what the problem is. Plus the model is the Linksys WHW03 V2 & pictures are above in the previous replies I sent
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted November 6, 2020 Administrators Share Posted November 6, 2020 Access the Linksys interface and look for the UPnP option and disable. Also I mean what is the exact model of the Adtran?
Lanzo101
I’m not sure how to check as it’s stuck to the wall now so I’m not able to find out
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted November 6, 2020 Administrators Share Posted November 6, 2020 Sounds like an ONT, could you take a picture please and I may be able to figure it out. Do disable UPnP on the Linksys though.
Lanzo101
I’ve turned off UPnP, and yeah it’s got a green socket which is an optical socket as you are correct yes it’s an ONT as it’s Fibre-To-The-Home (FTTH)
