daexgx
Hello, i've recently hit an issue with my local NAS. It doesn't matter if its a standalone (in my case WD EX2 ultra) or an HDD connected to the port on the router using readyshare. Whenever i access that storage, the drive is EXTREMELY unresponsive, ie. when i try to view video files (just the info, not streaming) the may take up to 10 seconds for my pc to load it. This happens regardless of it being mac or windows, both on the same 5GHz network. Playing videos is basically impossible, any system i try to stream through comes to a crawl. Is there any known issue with this? Even if i manage to stream 2-5 seconds, the entire thing just stops, same with downloading the files locally. It feels like the router resets the connection every few seconds and doesn't recover it back again. UPDATE: For anyone looking into this in the future i've solved this issue by mounting through NFS rather than just opening the discoverable files on my Mac, i have yet to try on Windows but i suspect it to be the same issue.
