NuclearSteveO
My friend and I play Warzone and multiplayer together and live 20 miles apart and have the same internet isp. He was consistently getting a 35-40 ms ping while I usually had around 50-54. Some nights my ping would match his at 35-40 but this is few and far between. I talked him into getting a Netduma R2 and the first he notices is that his ping goes up and was the same as mine. So this made me want to do some testing. I ran my PC straight into the modem and pinged my the local isp server and got a ping of 7 ms. Then I tried my old Netgear R7000 and got 7 ms. I tried my XR450 and got 21 ms. I done a factory reset and still got 21 ms. Why does this router (and his) add latency when it's supposed to lower latency? This is not my first Netduma router. I had an R1 back in the day and the best I remember I got a constant 35-40 ms ping.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted August 27, 2020 Administrators Share Posted August 27, 2020 What is your modem model and what is the exact setup? Are ALL devices connected to the R2? Where did you do the ping test?
