Jacob32
Hi I have a Netgear Nighthawk XR500. I am trying to use BT's IPv6 network but I can't get it to work. I have just learned that it's because the router doesn't support /56 address prefixes that BT use. Does anyone know if or when support will be added for this prefix in your firmware. Thanks. Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted July 12, 2020 Administrators Share Posted July 12, 2020 Hey, welcome to the forum! This would be for Netgear to do so I can't answer that accurately. Have you tried all the IPv6 options available in Advanced Settings?
Jacob32
Yes I have myself and other users have tried all the options but it just appears that it will only use /64 addresses which won't work on BT's /56 network. I guess I need to ask this question to Netgear. Thanks anyway.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted July 12, 2020 Administrators Share Posted July 12, 2020 If you login here after registering your router you should be able to make a support ticket. Just having a look on the BT forums someone said Netgear don't have any intention of implementing that IPv6 compatibility but I don't know how true that is. If any option was to work I would think it would be the 6to4 tunnel though it's not native IPv6. http://support.netgear.com/
