netentropy
Hello, I've had my new XR500 for about 3 days now. I have gotten excellent signal and speeds in all rooms of my house. Very pleased. Today however, I first noticed it was taking longer than expected to connected our Macs in the kitchen. I thought it was just a Mac problem. Then I noticed my Android device would not connect in the living room to either 2.4 or 5Ghz. Then only one device is house was able to connect, my girlfriend's laptop. My office laptop would not connect even with ethernet cable I could not log on to the router from any device, except my girlfriend's laptop , and even it would not pull up the dashboards. I unplugged and restarted the router and everything works fine now. However I am left unsure about having a stable network with this router. This seemed to happen out of nowhere, with only two people in the house using their laptops casually, no gaming or music. I am hoping this may be a known issue , and I can change a setting somewhere. Thanks so much for your help in advance.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted July 8, 2020 Administrators Share Posted July 8, 2020 Hey, welcome to the forum! You have disabled Smart Connect is that correct? If it happens again I would suggest using a WiFi analyzer to find the least congested channels in the area for each and then change to that. Also consider disable coexistence on 2.4GHz.
