Optional
Hi all, I have my router paired with a tc4400 docsis 3.1 modem. No bridging necessary there. I have a brand new cat7 cable connecting them, and have even gone back to the cat6 for a week to see if it persisted and it did. I've gone over the modem logs, it's not the ISPS fault. And I've gone over it with their techs. Randomly, my XR500 drops internet at the SAME TIME. Wifi AND wired. The interface @ 192.168.1.1 still loads up but it says the internet is disconnected. My xr500 is well ventilated and is using the latest firmware. I'm rebooting it once a day at this point. Feels like the old days with my shitty old Belkin lol. I'm a little nervous to go back to an old firmware version cuz there was that issue where you couldnt even open the routers interface, or something, wasn't there? What can I do here? I've tried: Replacing cable from Modem to Router. Point a fan at the router in case it was too hot. Factory resetting Geo-filter on or off QoS on or off No dice. Administrators Netduma Alex Posted February 3, 2020 Administrators Share Posted February 3, 2020 Welcome to the forum! The fact that all devices lose internet at once, and the router's interface remains accessible, suggests to me that it's a communication issue between the router and the modem. I'm not overly experienced with DOCSIS modems, I don't know if they have a DHCP pool or if they literally can't function without a router. What would answer this for me is knowing what the WAN IP of the XR500 currently is. You can send this to me privately if you don't want to reveal it publicly, in case it is actually your public IP. The WAN IP is listed in DumaOS on the System Information page.
