Bandwidth allocation not working. xr300.

Recommended Posts

Hi guys I've bought an XR300.

My QoS settings are as follows.

Anti-Bufferbloat - Always.  Both sliders at 70%

My bufferbloat is working and throttling my connection.

I've added my pc as a device.

I've set bandwidth allocation on pc to download 2.8 Mbps and upload to 1 Mbps.

When I run a speedtest I get a download speed of 180Mbps and upload of 30Mbps.  Not matter how I adjust things my pc always gets full speed on speedtest.

I tried the same on my ps4.  Download to 2 Mbps, upload to 1 Mbps and when I run speedtest I get 120 down and 20 up.

Why can't I limit my connection?

Just plugged the router out and back in and it worked.  Guess it needed a reboot after applying settings.

Hey, welcome to the forum!

If you're using Bandwidth Allocation then share excess will allow these devices to get the full speeds/throttled speeds. If you disable share excess in the Bandwidth Allocation settings then it will adhere to the allocations you have given them.
