Xr500 Vpn Problem

Recommended Posts

Hiya Fraser,

I have the following setup;

Bt fibre modem + Homehub with PPoE duty. From this Bt router, dhcp off, wifi off, lan cable to wan port on Netduma with fixed ip with range 192.168.1.100. DMZ to this IP.

From Netduma with local lan range 192.168.0.1 and dhcp on with aprox 30 devices working fine, no problem.

I have tried to enable the VPN option in order to connect to my home router when I´m out but doesn´t work. ( DDNS is enable )

I have tried with Android, IOS; mac, windows clients but doesn´t work. It says connected but I can´t ping any local device or surf internet. I have realised that the ip assigned by the vpn server inside the router is 192.168.1.x when my local network is 192.168.0.x so this is why is not working.

So with the mac os x client, I can edit the .conf file and add the following lines to the archive and I can get it working fine but I can´t add the line below to the .ovpn file on android client. Do you know why I´m receiving that ip range from the DHCP when is not the correct one ? Or how can I add manually my correct ip range to the android file ? Thanks

ifconfig 192.168.0.205 255.255.255.0

route-gateway 192.168.0.1

This is a Netgear feature so you may need to consult them if we're not able to help you but could you provide a screenshot of the VPN Service settings you're using on the router? Just to double check, you generally have an open NAT on the router as well? Well the VPN service isn't applying to a specific device but rather the router itself which is why I imagine it's using the WAN designation rather than LAN range.
