Hotpipes
Hello, I have a 2 desktops both next to each other used in a 2 pc stream setup.I have the Nighthawk R500. The issue that I am having is that my main desktop is getting the full download speed and my stream pc is only getting a small fraction. My speeds are 400 down and 20 up. However, on my stream pc I am only getting 6-7 down and 20 up. I have rebooted/factory reset, changed out the cables, put the modem directly into the stream pc (which I got 400 down and 20 up). It seems like everything is point back to the Nighthawk 500 unless there is something that I am missing in my windows settings, also on current 1903 update. I'm out of ideas and google searching answers. Please help!
Administrators Netduma Alex Posted July 22, 2019 Administrators Share Posted July 22, 2019 Firstly, go to QoS in DumaOS and check your Bandwidth Allocation settings for Download and Upload. Make sure that you press Reset Distribution for both Download and Upload, and open the side menu and tick Share Excess (again, for both) I imagine what's happening is that DumaOS is prioritizing the gaming PC because DumaOS Classified Games is set in Traffic Prioritization. You could try unticking this feature and see if your speeds improve on the stream PC. If that doesn't work, you could limit each device to maybe 200mb, half each, and untick Share Excess. This is a somewhat drastic solution but it will work. Games shouldn't take up that much bandwidth, but maybe your gaming PC is downloading patches in the background or something.
