Sunderbraze Posted March 10, 2019 Share Posted March 10, 2019 Hey folks, recently made the switch from the standard-issue Verizon Fios Actiontec router to an XR700 and I've been mostly pleased with it, particularly the OpenVPN implementation, combine that with Dynamic DNS and I can tunnel into my home network from pretty much anywhere on any device. The biggest drawback for me currently is the loss of internal DNS management features. I'd love the ability to alter A/AAAA/CNAME records and the local network's DNS suffix. For now I've had to circumvent the router for DNS purposes and its led to a rather messy solution. It'd be amazing if this could be added in a future build. Perhaps it would look something like this: Thanks for your time, I appreciate the progress so far. We handle the all the software other than the Settings page so this would be a suggestion for Netgear. I'll give this to the team to pass on to Netgear, great idea!
