antigen
Just ran into a recent issue that didn't present itself before. Before when I would normally enter the router login at http://192.168.1.1, I would log in fine. However, I recently reserved an IP for a device on my network and the router restarted itself after applying the effects. Now when I log in using http://192.168.1.1 using Chrome, it says it is "Not Secure" in the address bar. That message wasn't there before when I used to log in. What changed? I also tried using www.routerlogin.net and that says "Not Secure" as well. I've also tried using https instead but Chrome gives me the warning that the connection is not private. How do I go about fixing this as it seems odd that I only been getting it after the router restarted itself.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted December 30, 2018 Administrators Share Posted December 30, 2018 Hey, welcome to the forum! Just posted a reply on the Netgear forum, here it is also. I'd suggest just continuing support on one of these sites, not both. This isn't an issue per se, the router does not store any identifiable information about you etc so don't need to worry about it being not secure. Also I doubt if this suddenly changed as it's always been there as far as I am aware, you just may not have seen it before or it just showed as an icon rather than saying the whole 'Not Secure' message.
