It works well for the most part but sometimes my friend gets into the game without me and I just get a connection error, and my friend has to leave. Just to confirm I am the party leader so not sure how to get around this from happening? Even though you are the Party Leader, it is trying to connect you both and only you will drop off because you have the Geo-Filter. I recommend you instead switch to Spectating Mode and have your Geo-filter page open. Then when you join the pre-game lobby, back out if the server / ping are not what you want and search again.
