mcl
I'm not sure quite where the problem lies here, but I've been seeing this all day. A quick explanation: While at work, I maintain an encrypted Jabber session with my wife so we can stay in touch throughout the day. She's at home, behind the R1, with all her traffic going through our VPN. Prior to getting the R1, this all worked fine. Now, with it in place and the VPN up and running (I currently have no easy way to disable the VPN and determine whether it's at fault or the R1 itself is), our encrypted jabber session is disconnected as soon as I start typing (which causes traffic to be sent to her as I have typing notification turned on). This happens every time we haven't said anything to each other for more than a few moments. She eventually reconnects automatically a moment or so later, but it's annoying, and I'm wondering what might be causing it, or if anyone's seen anything similar and fixed it. Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted June 15, 2015 Administrators Share Posted June 15, 2015 We haven't seen this before. Can you try with the VPN off for your wife's computer please to see if thats anything to do with it.
mcl
I will. Tonight I'll exclude my wife's computer from the VPN and see if the problem persists tomorrow, and let you know.

mcl
Quick update: Last night, rather than excluding my wife's computer from the VPN entirely, I added exceptions for all the ports/protocols associated with XMPP (Jabber), but the problem persists. Tonight I'll exclude her system completely. If the problem's still there, we'll know for sure it's not the VPN.
mcl
I took my wife's computer off the VPN completely and the problem went away.

mcl
Yup. I'm going to follow up with CryptoStorm, see if I can learn anything to resolve it. At least now I know it's not the R1. Thanks for putting up with me!
