Problem with my Netduma R1

Hello, i have a netduma r1 that have so many problems. The first problem is that the hard reset button on the router doesn't work, then the router settings after some days resets automatically and I need to set it again and sometimes the settings doesn't apply. The wi-fi signal sometimes doesn't work. I try to update the firmware but the problems doesn't fix. I think it is broken. Can someone help me?

Hi Vincenzo, welcome to the forum! Let's take a look at your issues.

 

The hard reset button not working is unfortunately a relatively common Mikrotik hardware problem. It doesn't indicate that the router is broken / unusable, but it does make fixing some issues more difficult. We should hopefully be able to get the router functioning properly without needing it!

 

For your settings resetting, have you enabled Cookies in Settings > Miscellaneous? This should be enabled at all times. When your settings reset, do you hear a beeping sound from the router indicating it could be rebooting by itself? Make sure the router is in the open (well ventilated) to prevent overheating, and ensure the power adapter is firmly connected.

 

For your WiFi, try checking out this guide on the topic: http://support.netduma.com/support/solutions/articles/16000022405-why-does-the-netduma-wifi-keep-dropping-out-. That should definitely give you some options to try.

 

Could you also provide more information such as your modem model / ISP provider / expected speeds? Thanks!

- Which firmware version are you on?

 

- Are you unplugging the router at any point?

 

- Once you have your settings the way you like then, reboot from Miscellaneous settings.

 

- If you hold down the hard reset button on the router for 30 seconds, does the router beep at all? Does anything happen?

- Lastest updated firmware

 

- Yes it was unplugged by any point

 

- No, reboot button doesn't work and the device reboot by itself and I didn't hear any beep by the router

 

I think is broken
