Another R-app not loading

Recommended Posts

Thanks for finally letting me post.  I've got the netgear XR500, using the AC1900 as a bridge, and have wifi.  No dashboard.  just get the R-app not loaded for the last 4-6 hours,  Removed power cord, pushed the factory reset several times, nothing.  The tech help at netgear weren't trained on this and bumped it upstairs but no one has contacted me.  Any suggestions?

ETA - exact is "R-app is not loaded yet. Please try again in a minute". Do I have to factory reset everything and start from square one?

Hi badger really sorry about that. I'm CTO of Netduma the software developers and I'm here to help. It's a minor issue with the factory (teething problems) that has no impact on software/hardware. I think the quickest way to fix the issue is to:

  1. Go to http://192.168.1.1/index.htm
  2. You'll see the old Nighthawk UI but it won't look very good. Ignore the looks we're just temporarily bypassing DumaOS to get you back up
  3. Upgrade to the latest version by following these instructions: https://kb.netgear.com/000053269/XR500-Firmware-Version-2-1-0-4

Please let me know how you get on. I'm here to help you get up and running. If you'd like a 1 on 1 help using teamviewer let me know :)

I think I read that there is an update out which fixes this. It just came out so it wasn't on your router when it shipped.

Follow the instructions above to update

I downloaded the update file, unzipped it and loaded it - it seemed to reboot, and I have internet, but the internet light and this computer are blinking like crazy and the interface is blank with the update highlighted.  Does it take a bit to get finalized? will it tell me it has been completed?

It should take at most 2 - 3 mins to fully reboot. Can you access the UI by going to http//192.168.1.1 or http://routerlogin.net?

If you have teamviewer I'm available right now to assist. I'll send you a direct message. See the envelope icon below the NETDUMA logo on this forum, click that to read it please.

I don't have teamviewer, but I told it to reboot, and after that came up I could login with the routerlogin.  I can move around all the dashboard now.  I've got a lot to learn to fine tune, but I've read a bit into it while trying to get this fixed.  Appreciate the help.

I'm very happy to hear that. Really sorry about your initial experience. Have fun experimenting! And if you have any issues or questions please don't hesitate to ask back here.

Also just to let you know the UI is optimised for Chrome browser. I'd highly recommend using that for the best experience. The other browsers work well but Chrome works the best :)
