VPN connections (F-Secure Freedome, VPN Unlimited)

Hi,

I have been using Netduma R1 for 4 days and i can't get f-secure freedome or VPN unlimited working from my machines in LAN.

When i enable Freedome or VPN Unlimited, it says they are connected but nothing anymore goes through router from that device. I have tried with iPhone, iPad and Mac. Same result with everyone of them.

Also i noticed this morning when i use Cisco VPN client and Skype for Business. If i fire Cisco VPN client connection first, i cannot establish Skype for Business meetings. It just says cant connect. please try again later. BUT, if i first start an meeting from Skype for Business and then launch Cisco VPN client; it works.

Little bit frustrating coz i need those services and i cannot see logfiles from netduma what is going on.

Hey, welcome to the forum!

Please first try disabling turbo mode in miscellaneous settings.

If that doesn't work change anti-flood algorithm to preemptive.

Thank you.

Disabling turbo mode did the trick, however now my speed dropped 100mbs and i only get 55-65mbs :(

It's a bug so we'll be looking to fix that in DumaOS.

You should be able to achieve around 120mbps without turbo, double check you have these settings:

  • Reactive Algorithm
  • 100% anti-flood
  • Share excess enabled
  • Reset device prioritisation & apply
  • Disable IPv6 in WAN, LAN & misc
  • Disable deep packet in misc
  • Ensure the ethernet cables you're using connecting the R1 to hub & R1 to PC are Cat5e+/can handle your speeds.
  • Do a wired speed test from a PC
