Can you create 2 portforwarding rules to the SAME port (different static IP addresses) BUT only enable one?

Recommended Posts

In the Netduma, can you create 2 portforwarding rules to the SAME port BUT only enable one?

For example, I have a PS4 and XBox One on the same Netduma router. Both consoles have their own static IP addresses.

Both the PS4 and XBox One require port 80 TCP to be forwarded.

Can I create one rule that forwards port 80 to the PS4 then disable that rule (NOT delete it) and then create another rule that forwards port 80 to the XBox One and leave that rule alive?

I tried doing just that but Netduma wouldn't let me create the second rule to forward port 80 because the first rule (that forwards port 80) and already been created (albeit for a different static IP address AND the rule was disabled).

I read this post by Netduma Iain and got the impression that what I'm trying to do was possible (but Netduma isn't allowing me to do this).

Thanks.

Turns out that my question is a moot point. Apparently, you can set the same static IP address for 2 devices (e.g. PS4 and XB1). You just can't have both devices on at the same time. You also can't use the same static IP address for 2 devices in the DHCP Lease screen (just set the static IP address for one of the 2 consoles).
