paapicholoo
When a Device is configured to use a VPN connection. If the VPN connection is lost, will the device's internet access be blocked until the VPN connection is restored? Nope. After the VPN connection lost there will be a glitch and after that glitch the device will run on your local IP If you want to block your internet activities after the VPN connection lost than you need to enable the "Internet Kill Switch" option which is offered by very few VPN providers like PureVPN or Ivacy. Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted December 22, 2016 Administrators Share Posted December 22, 2016 Hey, welcome to the forum! You would need to connect to another server/reestablish the connection as your real IP will be visible if you lose connection.
Beset
I was looking through the changelog and found this statement which seems relevant. Changelog for 1.02 - http://support.netduma.com/support/solutions/articles/16000024058-1-02 "As a precuation to prevent revealing your true IP, VPN enabled devices get blackholed if VPN fails." Is the glitch mentioned, present in the latest firmware 1.03.6g/h?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted December 23, 2016 Administrators Share Posted December 23, 2016 Ahh well there you go then. That will be present in the current firmware. It's been so long since that firmware I completely forgot that was done.
Beset
Thank-you for confirming! Also, I'm really enjoying my netduma. Purchased it on cyber Monday. The bandwidth monitor/control features I really like! I'm excited to see what awesome features the new OS brings.
