Codeman
Does this router do any DNS caching? Also I wanted to switch my DNS servers for privacy reasons but the router does not allow for a static DNS in the WAN settings. Is this what the DNS entry is for in the LAN settings is for, i.e. the entered DNS will take the place of the one handed out by the ISP? All other routers I've used had this setting under WAN which makes more sense to me.
Slipknot31286sic6
You can set your own dns in the router Yes. Most ppl use Google servers
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted October 4, 2016 Administrators Share Posted October 4, 2016 I am almost certain it would have DNS caching and would be flushed upon rebooting the router. You can change the DNS without setting a static IP in LAN settings and that will change it for all your devices, no need to set in WAN for this.
