SBMM in BO3

I didn't like Ghosts purely for a couple of well known reasons.

1) The time to kill was so low that everyone resorted to lying/hiding in corners to protect their precious K/D.  I never thought the hit detection wasn't good, in fact I felt it was too good to have such a low life and terrible regen.  I like to have good games as much as the next guy, but c'mon.  When the pedometer on your players wrist registers 14 feet traveled in an entire match??  F*ck that!

2) The streaks sucked.  Period.  There isn't a streak in that game that I felt was useful.

3) The roll out, response and "community support" by Infinity Bored was atrocious.  They put this gal in charge of community relations who she had ZERO experience, wasn't prepared for the off the charts level of childish tweets she would be getting, and bailed on the game all together by Christmas.  Say what you will about David Vonderhaar, but the guy has been in the trenches, on the front line, of every one of his games.

AW - I don't consider it a CoD.  I consider it another type of FPS, and a decent freshmen entry into the FPS realm, but it's not CoD.  My sincere hope is they take a lot of notes from this past year and strive for a massive improvement for what I presume will be AW2 in another 2 years.

All I want from BO3, if I am honest, is a game that I WANT to play.  There is going to be some bullshit, I know this and I am preparing myself for it.  I don't WANT to play Ghosts and I rarely WANT to play AW (even with the over 30 FFA league NetDuma are trying to set up.

Give us a well thought out game that is fun to play and wasn't built around everyone having a Scuf controller (My biggest complaint about AW)

I never though ttk was low in ghosts. Thought it was perfect actually. Also never had a problem with corner campers either. Biggest problem was the IED and guarddog. I travelled miles in a match... Usually never stopped running.

Helo pilot i liked. Not much else was good... Except KEM. Nothing is good in AW either. I call in multiple paladins a game and it's boring. Last good killstreak/map set was MW3 and the reaper>ac130 setup.

I have a scuF controller and didn't find it as useful as you would think it would be. I just use stock ps4 now. My 360 controller I add trigger stops to for $2. Do it myself.

We shall see with BO3. At least I won't have to worry about buying it. Past releases I have bough CoD on PlayStation and Xbox with season passes on both. now it's just my son buying on ps4 so I dint have to pay anything now.

I can respect that.

To be honest, I played Ghosts the first week and haven't played a single minute of it since then, so I can only go by what I saw that first week.  Now the corner camping with an LMG/Thermal and whatever perk it was that kept them off the radar, is legendary on YT.

For my tastes, that was too much camping.  When I can find 50 channels devoted to camping, and one guy bought an advertising package to his channel SPECIALIZING in camping on Ghosts (Saiken/Saken),, its too much.

Loved the idea of the K.E.M. (I don't know what that really stood for, but I subscribe it was Kill Every Motherf*cker) , but that shit should have ended the game.  Man goes on a legitimate 25-Kill streak?  That should end the game in my opinion, period.

AW - I maintain that game was built with a Scuf, and MLG exposure, into the game.  If you don't have a Scuf, you do have to move your thumb from the sticks to the double jump button.  I only play with a Scuf and I feel that is an unfair advantage to be effective in the core playlist.  Sure, if you are playing the Classic playlist, I don't think it's as prevalent.

But all that boost jumping and using the jump to boost left and right to dodge?  So much easier with a Scuf.

I'm hopeful.  I would like a game that is fun to play.  I know shit is going to happen, and there is going to be shit I don't agree with, but I just want a fun game.

I think the scuf aren't designed properly. Plus PS4 you can remap... Just bumperjump. I would buy a cinch instead. Had a scuf for years though, never liked the paddles.

I played ghosts all the way through... Campers never once bothered me. In fact we used to have a blast rooting them out of areas. It was fantastic.

Ha-Ha, close. It's Kinetic Energy Missile.

I agree it was an awesome streak if you actually earned it. The devs cheapened it somewhat by gifting the streak to players through random Field Orders. You could be "rewarded" with a KEM just because you got first kill or a couple of kills whilst prone or some other BS within minutes of the game starting.

Sort of took the shine off for the player who actually earned it from a 25 streak. I suppose little Johnny no thumbs needs to feel special too lol...

Meh. That was only on strikezone and I actually liked the map better post destruction. Plus that map was so hectic there would be massive battles just to pick up the package sometimes. Nothing more rewarding than stealing that one...

Was it only Strikezone that delivered a K.E.M in a box?  Maybe it was, I don't remember.  Didn't the Predator streak have something similar on the Ruins or Temple map, when he went in to last stand?

I got my first KEM (25 streak) on Freight and was gutted nothing really happened to the map.  Think I got 6 kills and it all turned a bit foggy lol

Oh yeah... Predator did. I hated that. Used to be on huge streaks only for someone to call in predator on other team and knew I would die regardless. Now that did suck.

Strike zone was a map changing event on it. Rest didn't. That's why it was the Reaper Care Package on that map. Several maps had their own little thing.

The reason the TTK in Ghosts was so fast is because IW actually fixed the terrible netcode Treyarch uses for it's BO engines (BO2, AW (by SHG) and BO3). The only problem was is they didn't re-balance the weapons to account for the more responsive netcode. So, the hit detection was spot on, but this meant the weapons became hard core killing machines which turned Ghosts into a military simulator vs. an arcade shooter (and why HC was no different from Core).

yeah, bullets actually connect unlike the blanks 3arc and SHG load into their guns. its really annoying counting all the shots vs hit markers... ghosts it was always dead on that you could count your shots to kill.

Yea i loved ghost hit detection the more AW and BLOPS2. What puzzles me is how can a guy sprinting full speed without quickdraw and using a lmg ads his gun and kill me when i am pre aimed with the steed??? Honestly that should never happen in a cod but that shows how bad the connection is. It's still just as bad on BLOPS2 for me. Hope this beta for BLOPS3 gives me a reason to keep my preorder.

The reason the guy sprinting can kill you (if you are standing still) is anybody who is moving on the BO branch(es) of the engine has a clear advantage due to the in-engine latency I mentioned above. So, you may be pre-aiming, but if you are "camping", the guy running at you can actually see you FIRST on his end. This is how jacked up the engine is. Drift0r and regular players have posted YT videos of this over and over through the years. It's sad the devs have still not fixed this (this is part of the whole broken camera angles a lot of people complain about, too).

BO3 is going to be on the same engine as AW, and BO2. I have no faith it's going to get any better in terms of MM, or hit detection, unfortunately. Thus, we have the R1. Treyarch took out frame rounding, but the reality is on consoles that are locked to 60fps, it won't mean anything. Where this will actually have a real effect is on the PC version since they can far above 60fps (I also have a gaming rig along with PS4, XB1 which I bought the Netduma for).

BTW, I don't know if any of you visit the official Activision, CoD forums, but it is one of the worst places to go to have open discussions. There is a group of posters who are basically Activision shills / fanboys who won't accept anything less than "CoD is the greatest game of all time. It is flawless. Any problems (MM, connections, hit detection) are YOUR fault and nobody else's". The sad part is these aren't rabid teenagers. They are "old" men... 30s, 40s, 50s... Who probably don't play the games that much, but like to rule over the forums like a virtual kingdom to boost their egos.

I've been posting some of my findings, with screenshots from the R1 interface showing Geoflitering, yet they refuse to believe any of the SBMM theories, or that MM is just out of whack, etc. Sad...
