Dizzee
I gave up using my r1 for a while after following the wiki step by step and failing to keep normal down/up load speeds ie what my talktalk modem/router produced standing alone no matter what i did ( also tried a second talk talk router same results). Also had open nat and was always around 10% lower then what my download/upload speed should have been i would of been fine with this but my game play was even worse then normal and the geo filter not that useful as i am a uk bo3 player on x box so get the same Ireland dedicated server 99% of the time only time i do not is if there down. In the netduma device manger it would say i was behind another router at the top but wasn't an issue as long as dmz was right my wording might be off but along those lines so I figured two routers was the problem. i bridged the talk talk router after reading a post on talk talk forums it stated to 1. Set the PTM connection mode to BRIDGED 2. Disable TR069 3. Disable DHCP in the LAN 4. (Optional) Disable Wireless 5. then on your router. Set WAN connection to DHCP/Automatic IP the only thing I couldn't do was the last step i could not see the option. But it worked and worked very well gained download speed from 62mb too 68mb and upload 18mb went to 19mb shaved my ping too on my local ping test sever and cut my jitter form 11/15 to 5/9 and went from 6 bullets to 2 to kill it was straight forward there was a massive difference others viewing game play could see this also i must of played for 6 hrs straight it was so crisp . the next morning i woke up and my speed was a 3rd of normal 23 mb. I reset but was not as Sharpe around normal speed but felt sluggish. i factory reset the modem and router set it all up and it was great until following morning and it went sluggish again. I am still using it it in bridge mode as its better then the super-router standing alone is there any thing i could do to make it stable so i don't need to reset each day ? I would be willing to buy a stand alone modem if this would fix the issue and gain me a Sharpe connection 24/7 can anybody recommend a compatible one for the r1 in the UK please ? Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted May 13, 2016 Administrators Share Posted May 13, 2016 Some people do say A for Bufferbloat can help. There is no recommended modem as it works with all. Can you do a normal speedtest.net test after double checking the above settings not dslreports please.
