Hello,

Every day for the last couple of days I have had to do a factory reset in order to connect to a game. Tonight I had to and it only lasted a couple of games before I got an Error Server disconnected - Timed out. I looked at the FAQs and tried a couple of the suggestions but none of them worked.

Hey, you shouldn't need to factory reset in order to join a game.

How is your PC connected? Wifi or ethernet?

When it happens does your PC lose connection as well or just the game?

When you're disconnected do you see anything being blocked on the Geo-filter?

Hi,

I am connected by ethernet, it looks like just the game. I don't see any thing blocking the connection. I just tried to join my friends for a game. I could not join them and they could not join me. I rebooted the router through the interface and although my computer said I was connected to the internet I could not connect to the internet whatsoever, I finally had to do a factory reset and now I am responding to you.

You need to add your friends to the allow list http://wiki.netduma.com/doku.php?id=adding_friends_to_your_allow_list

Make sure you also have an open NAT as well by putting the R1 in the DMZ of your ISP hub.

Can you see if when you disable the Geo-filter you get the same issue please. If you weren't using the Xbox Live service for PC BO3 make sure you do that before testing with it disabled.

I have an open NAT. I have a gateway modem (you helped me with putting it in bridge mode) if there is a way to still put the R1 in the DMZ, I don't know how to do that. I also have put my friends in my allow list every time I restarted my R1. I will try the geo filter enabled and disabled and let you know the results. I am at work right now but will try this out as soon as I get home.

Okay keep us updated!

Hello,

Have the same issue connecting to BO3. I disabled the Geo-filter and I get the same result. I just did a factory reboot using the Misc settings and I got the following message " Error loading misc page. Please post issue at forum.netduma.com" Hope this helps.

Just to add some more info, I get the following "error Server Disconnected - Timed out". Also I factory reset twice and it did not work. I even set the distance filter to cover the world and nothing. Also had this error " Oops, there was a problem loading external resources. After factory reset."

Another update on my problem, I have cable for my internet, I get speeds of approx. 124 Mb/s Down and 10 Mb/s Up. However I have notice that I can only load into a game if my algorithm is set to preemptive, if I set it to reactive then I get kicked. I would think that at my internet speeds it would need to set to reactive, am I wrong?

Thanks in advance fro any help you can provide.

Reactive shouldn't cause that. You do need it for your speeds.

Please look to see if anything comes up blocked on the Geo-filter.

After doing some more testing the only way for me to connect to the black ops servers is if I have the algorithm to preemptive. If I set it to reactive I get kicked.

It sounds like that caution triangle/padlock is causing the booting. Please provide me with the ID. Encompass it in your radius with reactive on and see if you're able to connect.

Ok, I had multiple padlocks but no cautions. The ID's are as follows. ID: 4f6cbf8a09ee383d, ID: 506ca67109ef383d, ID: 4f6cbf8a09ee383d ID: 4d6cce9909ec383d, ID: 486c9f6a09e7383d, ID: ba6ca16c0959383d and ID: 4d6ca57009ec383d

I attached a snippet of what my Geo filter looked like when i was trying to connect to a server with reactive. As soon as I set it to preemptive I was able to get into the game.

Hey Fraser,

It seems that reactive works with all other COD games but Black Ops 3. It would be nice to hear if you have any ideas why.

Hey sorry for the late reply. This is quite strange and has never been an issue. I will look into this, thanks for the IDs.

Hey Fraser, I just wanted to update you on my problem. In device manager, if I set my download above 90 mbs down and reactive is ticked, hit update and answer yes in Auto-Setup to "Would you like the router automatically configured to handle your speeds?" I cannot get into any DOD game. Anything below 90 and everything works fine. I do not see any padlocks or cautions.

Hope this helps

Very strange, can you post in the 1 on 1 request forum regarding this please so I can take a look.

Fraser, I just want to let you know how much I appreciate your help with my problem. There are not many companies out there that would take the time like you did.

Again thanks!

Mike
