Netduma Staff Netduma Crossy Posted April 2, 2015 Netduma Staff Posted April 2, 2015 Well if I can get 120, then I'm all in. I'll try again right now. I'll set everything to what's suggested, reset the router just for kicks and try the test... Remember to reset the router from the miscellaneous settings and not by unplugging it from the the power otherwise all the settings you've just changed will revert back
y2kmfic Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 Here's what I just got.. I paused the network monitor right after the dl finished. The speeds don't match, which is understandable since the R1 is showing all traffic and speedtest is just showing its traffic. So I'm happy with it since I have a fix for higher speeds if needed.
jason1077 Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 I have all those settings like you said and I get the 97 down and 19 up. I swapped out ethernet cables and still getting same results. I connect my pc to netgear router and netgear to ISP and netduma is not connected I max out at 150 down and 25 up.
Guest Netduma_Iain Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 Thanks man I'm not really sure why the speeds are that low. Can you make sure you have a gigabit ethernet cable conencting the device to the R1 and also connecting the R1 to the modem please.
Guest Netduma_Iain Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 Also don't forget to disable linklocal in "Settings > Misc"
iFelsie Posted April 2, 2015 Author Posted April 2, 2015 My dad didnt go to misc and clicked " reset factory " he did reset via netduma router back of the router.
jason1077 Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 linklocal in Settings > Misc is disabled. Could you post a link for a good quality gigabit ethernet cable? Thanks.
y2kmfic Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 LOL.. unless you have a bad cable, cable makes no difference… please. This $1.33 cable will work.. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812422006
Guest Netduma_Iain Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 Its not the quality Jason, its the type of cable. Check this out: http://www.ebay.co.uk/gds/What-are-the-Different-Types-of-Ethernet-Cables-/10000000177629325/g.html Basically you want one that can handle 1000mbits. The cost should be in the ball park of a couple of dollars
iFelsie Posted April 3, 2015 Author Posted April 3, 2015 Lain, is it any difference when you reset via back of the netduma router or goto Misc and click " factory reset " ?
Guest Netduma_Iain Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 There's a reset button on the back? I didn't even know that. Please do not touch that button. There is a reset button on the front face where the ethernet cables are. But please use the button on the GUI over the physical button everytime. The physical button is there for when you can't access the GUI. Remember when you factory reset the wifi password will change so you need a wired cable to connect back to it and change it to what you're used to.

So Only go to misc and click on " factory reset "?
Guest Netduma_Iain Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 So I meant go to misc then factory reset. In case you're interested GUI = graphical user interface.
iFelsie Posted April 3, 2015 Author Posted April 3, 2015 I get around 20-30 down and 2-4 up on PS4. And should i change the banwidth on " wifi " ?
Guest Netduma_Iain Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 The PS4 test is notoriously inaccurate, everyone here posts same things. I would ignore anything other than wired PC test to speedtest.net or something equally as reputable. Also look at the network monitor, you're probably on below 1%, 99% of the time. Bandwidth is really quite unnecessary these days until someone invents a killer app.
iFelsie Posted April 3, 2015 Author Posted April 3, 2015 What about IPv6 and IPv4 ? My new modem support both of them.
iFelsie Posted April 3, 2015 Author Posted April 3, 2015 What about deep packet processing? Should i keep that enable? And reactive?
Guest Netduma_Iain Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 Could you do this please: http://forum.netduma.com/topic/1485-150-mpbs-download/?p=21428
iFelsie Posted April 3, 2015 Author Posted April 3, 2015 Wow! On PC we got over 90 download and 17 upload. But on ps4 29-30 mbps download and 2-4 upload.
Guest Netduma_Iain Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 Felsie likely the playstation servers that are the bottleneck not your connection. I'd ignore it if I was you
iFelsie Posted April 3, 2015 Author Posted April 3, 2015 Only get 10 % of capacity on wi-fi whats wrong? My dad ask it.
Netduma Staff Netduma Crossy Posted April 3, 2015 Netduma Staff Posted April 3, 2015 Only get 10 % of capacity on wi-fi whats wrong? My dad ask it. Wifi is always slower than wired. The only way to get the full speeds it via wired. Its annoying but I fixed it by using wireless powerline adapters.
iFelsie Posted April 3, 2015 Author Posted April 3, 2015 This is how the setup looks: http://forum.netduma.com/uploads/images/1428072433-U621.jpg
