Modem > Dlink > Netduma, will this work?

Hi,

i want to use Netduma ONLY on my PC. I have a Dlink Modem a Dlink DIR 868L Router, i want to plug the Netduma router into my DIR868L Router. Will this work for me ? Something like a Passthrough

Hi,

 from what i understand you can principially  set it up this way, but this is not the way it is intendend.

 

You will still be able to use the Geofilter to reduce ping (I think), but you won't have control over your home-network, which is then related to the D-Link Router.

 

One of the purposes of the R1 is to control possible home-network congestion. This means that other devices of your home-network might negatively influence your gaming experience. Therefore the R1 should imho come first before any possible other router.

Yes that would work if you just want to use the Netduma for your PC. Just make sure you put the netduma in DMZ so you get a open NAT.

Just to reiterate what the others have said - yes you can use it this way if you wish. You will not be able to make use of congestion control however. Would definitely recommend modem > R1 > dlink if possible.
