Ryan
So I recently got the R1 router. I've the original modem supplied by PlusNet connected into the R1 router. When I go on the Internet on my pc it says 'No Internet, secured'. How do I fix this?
Dillinger
Can you get on the internet and you are just worried about the "No Internet secured"? Or can you not get on the internet at all?
Ryan
I can't access the Internet at all.
Dillinger
Okay, I am not familiar with "PlusNet" - but I suspect we can figure this out. From the wall, are you going into the PlusNet first? Or the Netduma first? Are you hard wired (preferred)? Or are you using the Wifi? Also, what browser are you trying (Chrome is preferred)? Have you used the recessed red reset button at all? Or is it still as it came out of the box?
Ryan
So I've the R1 connected to an Openreach modem which is then connected to the wall. My browser is Chrome yes
Ryan
I haven't touched the rest button no. Should I?
Dillinger
Have you been able to access the NetDuma's GUI at all? The address would be: 192.168.88.1 Quick set up guide: https://netduma.com/support/faqs/how-do-i-quickly-set-my-netduma-router-up/
Dillinger
I haven't touched the rest button no. Should I? No. But if you ever have to, your password will change from the one it shipped with, to a default of 'netdumar1' - just making sure we don't need to start here
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted March 8, 2016 Administrators Share Posted March 8, 2016 You may require PPPoE in order for the internet to work. In WAN settings, enable PPPoE and try Username in this format - [email protected] (should have one yourself) whatever password you have for that
Ryan
Still doesn't work :/
RunFrenchyRun
Hi Ryan I'm wth Plusnet and did have the same issue until recently. Open the Netduma GUI and go to Settings > LAN > Enable custom DNS. Type in 8.8.8.8 in the first box Type in 8.8.4.4 in the second box Then you'll need to go to Settings > WAN > enable PPPoE. Username is [email protected] (replace username with your Plusnet one) Password is your normal PlusNet password. Hopefully that should sort the issue!
