The 6190 has an issue with high ping spikes that Arris is aware of.

I was not aware of this. I've never noticed this either, maybe I should start monitoring this real close. Thanks for the heads up....

Mmhm. That's it. It should be 5 to 6 months before a fix comes out for the 6190.

Ok, so tonight I dug out my old SB6141 and hooked it up, got it working with comcast/xfinity throught the walled garden...

In the R1 I kept the "set input" of 180/24 for both test and didn't change anything. Didn't factory reset or anything either, just rebooted a couple times after getting old modem working again.  I don't use ipv6 either as recommended, this is all ip4..

The only way I can get an A+ on buffer-bloat is by now setting my sliders to 65% / 97%     and this of course drops my bandwidth down quite a bit. My 6190 does amazing compared to the 6141 as far as dslreport testing and working on the A+.  So both modems can handle my normal speeds of 180/24 just fine, but the 6190 seems to do a much better job on the tests as I stated up above at only having to do the 99/100 on CC with the 6190.

I'm gonna run this 6141 for a while, play some black-ops 3 and tinker around, see if it helps or makes matters worse.  Just some food for thought.
