PharmDawgg Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 I noticed something last night. Periodically I will check my cable modem power levels and I noticed that Comcast had activated an inactive upload bonding channel in my modem. My modem is capable of handling 4 upload bonding channels but for the longest only 3 were active. And for some reason last night I now have 4 bonded channels. I haven't changed my service with them or anything. I was just wondering if any other cable internet/ or Comcast users have experienced this or know why they usually do this.
Dillinger Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 I got nothing on this for you brother, but I will be checking back to see if anyone else does.
slingblade5 Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 What modem do you use? Maybe they updated your local hub, and you could actually be getting more down-stream channels as well if you are using a modem that could handle it? I only get 8 down-stream and 3 up. Pretty much wasted my money on a new sb6190 due to the 8/3 situation, which I had no way of knowing until I updated and tried, and although more future-proof, docsis 3.1 is suppose to unleash next year...? WIll be outdated before I ever could use it's potential if even by then... http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r29686112-Signals-Side-Discussion-about-16-24-channel-Downstream-Bonding http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r26047253-Signals-Evidence-of-Upstream-Channel-Bonding-Post-Here?hilite=johkal+upstream+bonding
