XtreamJay Posted February 12, 2016 Posted February 12, 2016 Many have observed lag spikes when playing Halo 5 on dedicated servers close to their home location. My hypothesis is the lag spikes are a result of lag compensation within Halo 5. I would like others to help me test this by playing on servers further away than their closest server.

I think we observed some close servers yesterday that were playing suboptimal for some reason
XtreamJay Posted February 14, 2016 Author Posted February 14, 2016 May be a regional setting. I'm currently geo locked to NA. Cant connect outside US. You guys might consider adding an option to add artificial latency to combat lag compensation.
bcoe30 Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 I live in Nevada & I've noticed the servers there & the bay area ( san Francisco) etc... Been very bad lately, worse then normal. I moved my location to Washington area and found there dedi w/ lees spikes and less lag . I've been keeping an eye on the ping chart
bcoe30 Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 So... Reno NV is not close enough to Washington. I'm still testing the dedi & hope its a good one. Fingers crossed for Washington & Seattle dedi for me !?
XtreamJay Posted February 14, 2016 Author Posted February 14, 2016 If you are referring to Halo 5, there are no dedis in Washington. Im in California, and I played on east coast servers all weekend. I got to onyx, but beyond that it's useless. I have no idea what's going on.
