CheapDanglyHam
For the last few days my Internet has been sluggish, and hasn't been fragmenting packets properly causing packet loss. After playing around with the command prompt on Windows 10, I found out that I have somehow created a loopback interface. I believe I may have done this trying to install my Netduma with a modem/router combo. I have no idea how I've done it, but does anyone know how to remove it? It's affecting my network something chronic, and online gaming just isn't possible with my connection in this current state. I'll be forever in the debt of anyone who can solve this for me. Zennon
Start > right click > device manger > view tab at the top > show hidden devices > network adapters > right click on the loopback pseudo interface and uninstall. Its a Microsoft adapter. They like to keep an eye on things.
CheapDanglyHam
So if I do this on my computer does it eliminate the thing entirely? Because all devices on my network have the same packet loss issue.
Zennon
You can uninstall it from all windows machines yes. If you are seeing packet loss connect directly to your router via Ethernet and test to see if you have and ISP issue. If not it can be a wireless issue or a dodgy cable etc. Build your network back up, testing after ever new device/cable fitted, until you find the culprit.
