Praktical_Theory Posted December 26, 2015 Posted December 26, 2015 I just received my netduma and I'm loving it for gaming; however, I'm trying to figure out how to get it working with OpenDNS. When I attempt the WAN IP settings in the settings page and after I hit apply I receive an "Interface wan not found" message. I'm not sure I'm correctly setting up the configuration. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance! Patrick
Administrators Netduma Iain Posted December 26, 2015 Administrators Posted December 26, 2015 Hi Patrick in away from router atm but from what I recall you need to assign yourself static IP and Gateway on top of dns to achieve that in the WAN settings. Tbh you're the first person who wanted dns only. I'll try remember to add that ability in the next version of firmware. Can you private message "Netduma Fraser" to add to internal ticket system. In mean time I suggest setting opens dns on all devices if you need it. Merry Xmas!
Praktical_Theory Posted December 26, 2015 Author Posted December 26, 2015 Sounds good. Thanks so much for responding so quickly. I sent "Netduma Fraser" a private message to add it to the ticketing system. I think I might wait for the next release if you can get it added. I don't want to hassle with setting each device individually. I look forward to all the future upgrades. Merry Xmas!
Netduma Staff Netduma Crossy Posted December 27, 2015 Netduma Staff Posted December 27, 2015 @Iain Just wondering, is there a difference between doing it the way Patrick was trying to do it and just changing the default DNS in Settings >> LAN?
Administrators Netduma Iain Posted December 27, 2015 Administrators Posted December 27, 2015 I could definitely be wrong can you setup openDNS using LAN settings crossy? If so please let theory know
Praktical_Theory Posted December 27, 2015 Author Posted December 27, 2015 I used the LAN settings page to update my Primary DNS and everything is working correctly. I thought it was in the WAN settings and I was wrong. Thanks for the effort. I appreciate it. Keep up the good work!
Administrators Netduma Iain Posted December 27, 2015 Administrators Posted December 27, 2015 Awesome stuff!
