HappyLittleChap
I see some new routers from Asus (available next month) have the WTFast service but into them meaning they can now support consoles as well as PCs. If I bought one of these routers would this offer much benefit over the NeDuma? I assume it does as WTFast offer a different service than NetDuma as they seem to concentrate on the route the packet takes avoiding bad routes and corrupt gateways to minimise ping. What do we think? Administrators Netduma Iain Posted December 23, 2015 Administrators Share Posted December 23, 2015 I noticed this before. From a tech pov it nearly alls scenarios a VPN will only add latency not reduce it. Normally packets go straight from your home to the destination. With a VPN they go from your home to the VPN then to the destination. The Internet in most cases will take the shortest path so I'd be very surprised if there is any benefit. We added the VPN feature because 1) Some people just want VPN for non gaming things 2) it's a way of hiding your IP address, as some people who play at the high level get DDoSed.
