i can't test my speed or i can't optimize my ping
theguycanfly replied to Matthew_D's topic in Netduma R3 Support
It's been almost a year since our last official update, a lot of features seem not to be working as advertised or are just broken overall. I really thought that when I bought a $200 router, it'd be more reliable and better supported. I've made a post or two and some comments on here over the last few months, and not a single issue I've had has been resolved to any degree. Ping optimizer doesn't do anything as far as I can tell, ping is no different than on the spectrum default router, I still experience packet burst in COD. The geo filter is more of a suggestion than anything, as most games will put you in whatever server or just not let you connect at all, even if there is a server in your geofence. Idk what the issue is with Valorant, some days my ping to Chicago is 30, sometimes it's 5,0 sometimes it's 80, that doesn't make any sense. Ping heatmap is inaccurate, it doesn't even pull up servers for The Finals, and hasn't in MONTHS. You replied to my comment a few months ago and said it was coming soon, to try to resync the cloud in a few days, it's been months, and still nothing. Why have it as an option if it's gonna show N/A for every server? I understand you're just the guy who talks to the community, but we spent good money on this product, and it seems like a lot of people are having the same recurring issues with no real fixes. I shouldn't have to jump through hoops, the stuff should just work, or not be advertised as working and disabled by default. An update with bug fixes shouldn't be a yearly occurrence. I apologise if any of this has come off as rude, but this is my personal experience. I could go on and on about features I try to use that just don't work, but I'll spare you the reading as I fear this comment on a random post on the forum isn't going to get fixes any faster -
We've been getting that response a lot. I still have this issue in cod, bf, and the finals since I made my post a while ago, none of the fixes actually fix the issue. I still can't even see my ping for The Finals, been waiting on that cloud update for a while

After my previous post a week or so ago, I've also been having this same recurring issue, ping heatmap says I'm pinging one thing, in-game says much higher for Cod & BF, at this point i'm about to do testing with everything just off, geo filter, steady ping, etc and see what that does, because the two never match up. Was having this issue with Valorant earlier where it says chicago is my best ping 30, I get in game and set my only server to chicago, it says 50, connect in game, dumaos says i'm in okalahoma city and ping is 70? Why all the hoops, I just want low steady ping

I'll make these recommended changes and report back in a few days. I'm in KY, I ping best on Ohio and Chicago servers for the most part, but Atlanta GA servers always have the worst connection for me in COD, no matter if it's MW3, BO6, Warzone etc, Atlanta GA servers are torture to play on, so much lag so I try to block them any time I get connected, hopefully this will keep me on Chicago and Ohio servers.

I've been mostly enjoying my R3 for about a year now, but recently, some of the features I use the most have stopped working, or I'm unsure if they are functioning properly. Playing Modern Warfare 3 2023 or Black Ops 6, the Geofilter seems to be more of a suggestion than anything, as they'll very often put me in servers outside of my filter with much higher ping even though I keep everything on strict, ping assist off etc, and steady ping doesn't even feel like it's doing anything, almost every game is packet burst packet burst packet burst just over and over every game of Cod. And when playing The Finals, I can't even see the servers on the heatmap, and when I play, it never tells me what server I'm playing on or what my ping should be, etc. I paid a lot of money for this router specifically to solve these problems, especially in Call of Duty, and the worst part is I think it's just Activision's servers when it comes to my issues with COD., I don't even think it's my internet or my hardware. Bufferbloat passes with an A+, speed test is good. Congestion management is set to be like 80%. I am at a loss on what to do at this point to fix this issue with COD.

I'm on coaxial broadband internet, but got decent results with similar settings: https://www.waveform.com/tools/bufferbloat?test-id=90f061e2-860c-4540-a119-6edda617256e
