  1. What i had to do was make sure any (if any) extra settings on the modem arent enabled or firewall set too high. Then for the R3 settings I went to Settings > DHCP > Add Rule > Select Xbox/PS5/PC from the list > Reserve IP. Then i went into Port Forwarding > Add DMZ Device > Select Xbox/PS5/PC from list > Save. Also disable ipv6 in WAN and LAN as mentioned above. Once you have done all this reboot the R3 as well as your gaming device and then check for open nat type. It worked for me and ive been enjoying the R3 since, yes it has minor gripes here and there for me, but for what i need it to do which is Open NAT and Geo Filter my PS5 and give me the lowest latency possible while mitigating bufferbloat it has worked exceptionally well. Hope this helps you bro.
  2. for the upnp relay, does this only work if our isp gateway is in bridge mode? because i dont and i just have it doing what it normally does i just turned off the wifi radios and connected the r3 to the port as a lan device and into the r3s wan port, i still get moderate nat unless i put my console in the r3s dmz. the only reason i use my setup like this is because i use a tplink deco mesh system for the house and it takes advantage of my internet plans full speed with its 2.5g wan port, i have it in AP mode so the isp gateway does the ip routing for any thing that connects to it, then i have the r3 connected to the isp gateway as well but i use it more as a switch with only my game console plugged into it and with it still giving out the ip and having my ps5 reserved in the dhcp addresses, but like i said this way i cant get an open nat unless i put the ps5 in the r3 dmz all the features work like they should still, i also have the r3s ip address that the isp gateway gave it in the isp gateways dmz as well. please tell me if im doing something wrong or is this just the only way i can get open nat and upnp is just inoperable due to my setup? if there is a better way to have my setup that still gets my internet plans full speeds please let me know or if there is a better setup at all in that case plpease let me know. sorry for dragging this on just wanted to be as thorough as i could to better understand my situation and to also inform you guys of upnp not necessarily working for me.
  3. I've actually downgraded back to 4.0.170 as I found geo filter as well as my connection to the internet to be more consistent. With 4.0.179 my connection kept dropping and youtube videos were buffering
  4. Yea definitely still had to use dmz unfortunately 😕
  5. thank you Fraser, ive been having issues with upnp and moderate nat type ill let you know if the latest early access fixes it, ive had to dmz as of lately
  6. Thank you for this info, yes I'm somewhat familiar with DMZ and how vulnerable it leaves whatever IP Address is in it but that does seem to have opened my nat on ps5. So far I'm 80% satisfied with my purchase of the R3, I'm not going to lie though I expected a more stable and reliable product this go around. I had the xr500 back in the day and then the xr1000 and those worked somewhat but firmware was a s*** show on netgears part. It's a shame cause that could have setup a bright future. As we can see netgear provided the spec side and netduma provided the GUI Software side, we saw that with the xr1000 which is still better internally than the r3 lol. I wish they gave the R3 a 2.5gb Wan port too minor gripes I have lmao. Oh and another thing I have a mesh wifi system hooked up in AP Mode connected to the R3 with the R3 being the main router responsible for applying IP addresses and dhcp side of things as well only problem is when devices connect to the mesh system they don't pop up on the device manager but they are in the offline devices and as well as all the other categories settings like smart boost, network manager, and all that does this mean they are still being used by dumaos and the device manager is just glitched? Sorry for my long rant lol much appreciated 👏
  7. Why do we have to do this tho? And what about upnp
  8. Okay I just did, I'm currently on v4.0.41 but I've been having issues with my NAT Type being moderate as well as ping optimizer not working and Geo Filter is 80% of the time working. So I'm just trying to figure out which firmware versions bring me the most satisfaction as those are all the reasons I bought the R3 in the first place. I got rid of my mesh setup for this and I took a hit in the wifi range department for these features so to have them working would be nice lol
  9. I'd like to be added to early access! Please. P.s. I had a quick question besides the early access firmware what's the latest official firmware for the R3 I'm a bit confused I've seen people say it's 4.0.23, I've seen someone say it's 4.0.21. And as it stands I've been told it's the one I'm currently on which is 4.0.41. If someone from netduma could clear this up for me and give me the link to 1.)Early access. 2.)Latest Stable. That would be highly appreciated as I just got my R3 and I'm getting flustered trying to solve the bugs lol
  10. Is 4.0.41 the latest stable version? Because on the actual latest firmware it says it's still 4.0.23?
  11. It's just been very inconsistent, I'm currently using 4.0.41 now, since I found the download on another forum and as it works better than the past 2 firmwares I used, the geofilter is hit and miss and my nat type for some reason is moderate. I've heard 4.0.23 is the most stable but I'm kinda waiting to hear from netduma themselves to provide their input cause they have all the firmwares and can send whatever one they see fit lol
  12. Can you guys please send me the latest stae firmware as it stands I just got my R3 and it's buggy as all heck it's running 4.0.20, if you guys can send me the latest stable firmware I would appreciate it!
