The advice was to replace the router. No more DumaOS for me. 😌

Okay that's good on both counts then. However, if it did happen recently then it's likely the auto update of the firmware that did it and going down a version, then disabling auto update on the firmware page may help.
That suggests to me that devices aren't liking the higher frequency AX WiFi is providing, however, disabling AX changes the default 5GHz WiFi mode to 4330Mbps so still really high and higher than the options you had to downgrade to previously which could explain it.
How many devices do you have using WiFi at any one time generally? I know you said you had 1 device connected and it was still a problem but just want to get the whole picture.
Is Enable 20/40 MHz Coexistence enabled or disabled in Advanced WiFi settings? What channel do you have 5GHz set to exactly? Can't quite tell from the screenshot

Forget it, I'll buy another brand of router. DumaOS is nothing but problems.

    Try these suggestions:
Disable Smart Connect, give 2.4/5GHz different names and apply - you'll want to connect to 5GHz specifically for speeds Use a WiFi analyzer to find the least congested channel and change to that Ensure it's in an elevated position - not on a metal surface Ensure there aren't any electrical / wireless devices e.g headphones etc within close proximity ~3 feet if possible Set the antennae to this position _ | | _

Are you using PPPoE/VLAN/IPv6? If so that is likely the cause. Have your ISP modem/router handle PPPoE/VLAN instead and then it should work again correctly.

Only posts that are spam or are duplicates are deleted, any topics that may require sensitive information will be moved to a secure part of the forum where only staff and the person who started the topic can see/respond to it, none are deleted. Posts that contain links are automatically hidden for later review to prevent spam and we've had a big decrease in spam since doing this. I've manually approved it now.

That doesn't mean the router is working without the software - it's a router and in that situation it's acting like a switch so it's not working correctly without the software at all. Topics where more sensitive information may be required are moved to preserve privacy & security. If the update bricks routers and we didn't test it then there would certainly be a lot more noise about it in the Early Access section. You weren't offered to buy another router, the router was determined to be faulty, you're outside the warranty period and we haven't sold the router for years so a replacement couldn't easily be arranged anyway. We could leave it as that but we offered a discount if you wanted to get the R3, we could have offered nothing but knowing how frustrating it is to have a faulty router and as a sign of our gratitude for being a customer that's what we can offer, it's up to you if you want to take it or not. We're on a support forum, that's all I deal with, it doesn't mean 100% of the customer base have the issues.

@Netduma Fraser  Very easy as explained in my other posts it puts the R2 into a state where the router acts as a mesh and the internet works fine but soon as it tries to load the duma os software it fails it even states in the logs it cant start certain duma os components it tells you exactly what the issue is without giving certain info if the router was at fault the router would not work at all no matter what it only does not work when it tries to load the duma os witch its stuck on after a firmware update
It's firmware related just like all posts that got archived due to the same issue where users R2 becomes bricked unuseable hense they got arcvived to hide them from others seeing them the issue going on .. I never missed all the posts tho before the got taken down by yous at duma why hide posts that are connected to other users issues no personal details ect was posted yet they was removed but all other posts stay active lmfao come on .. I was not born yesterday
Ano yous dont want to take responsibility as its will costs duma but at the same time dont push updates that can brick the routers without correctly testing them if aint no way to resolve the issue if it  happens .. I was offered to buy another router do you know how cheeky that sounds after duma firmware bricked my router to start with how about you replace all the bricked routers for free like a real company would do but hell no yous blame other things try pass blame on stating its a router fault no its not its firmware i have tetsed the router it works fine its the duma os that is the issue nothing else .. Try telling me its a router issue now after reading many users with the same issue posted on reddit where you cant remove comments or posts  all at the same time all very recently to same time around when mine done it bricked the device ...

The XR1000 still has DumaOS though. How are you determining that the R2 runs fine without DumaOS when it doesn't run any other software?

@THE_DON_PABLO Crazy you mention this seems like you aint the only one in this boat .. I went and bought a xr1000 saved myself the hassle least its made by netgear not netduma had no issues so far but av got a R2 that does exactly as you state and many others  otherwords its bricked .. Only offer i got was certain % amount of a new router lol Not going to buy another when old one failed after a firmware update .. Duma will state its a router issue but nothing todo with the router as router works fine without the duma software what wont work is the actual duma software wont load nor give any internet connection nor does factory reset even reset anything .. If the router was the cause how can you explain how it works without the duma software but with duma software its bricked lol They traet there customers like they are brain dead but infact just makes therm look worse as people aint stupid with whats going on no wonder netgear went seprate ways with netduma .. They dont want anything todo with them no suprise really

This is the exact thing that happens to me, i have read a few peoples issues now and it all seems to be the same issue.
Funny enough it seemed liked the R2 started going funny when the R3 come out....
I tried what you suggested on my post and my r2 wont even get a connection from my router now.
If i am luckily enough for the r2 to show up on wifi or Ethernet I'm stuck with the set up page anytime the box restarts.
I cant keep the r2 on long enough to be able to allow for a pushed update or firmware either .
I had my r2 since 2021, like i said in my post never moved it, disturbed it or anything that would cause these issues and a few people now have explained the exact same issues.
I cant even force a factory reset from the button at the back, it does nothing.
Feel like throwing it at the wall

From a factory reset what settings are you changing specifically?
I've given you Early Access so you can try the firmware there and see if it is more stable: https://forum.netduma.com/forum/144-netduma-r2-early-access/

Hi Fraser, thank you for the reply.

    I've just bought the R3, please don't announce a R4 anytime soon
I hope the R3 will outperform the XR1000.
    Cheers
  18. Confused
Behringer-93 reacted to Netduma Fraser in XR1000 V2
Are you saying it's underperforming purely on the speeds you're getting through it? If so, what speeds are you getting via ethernet to speedtest.net? If not, what is your metric you're using to determine it's underperforming?
With some ISPs swapping out the main router completely can result in speeds being throttled for a week or so. You can either wait to see if they get better or if you copy the MAC address of the ISP router and set the XR to use that instead it gets around the throttle as it thinks the original router is still being used. Being biased I'd say yes but I'd need more information about what it is you're wanting exactly to give you a better answer. Short answer is the XR series won't get DumaOS 4 and updates will be limited/far between. So if you want more up to date software with newer features the R3 would be the better option.

I've provided the options in my previous response, if you're looking for a router then the R3 from us would be what I'd suggest.
The VPN from your screenshot is something different completely.
  20. Confused
Behringer-93 reacted to Netduma Fraser in Utilisation vpn
You can't set it up on the router to apply to your PS5. Your router doesn't support the HybridVPN feature. You'd have to get one of our routers that does or find another alternative to applying the VPN to your console.
  21. Haha
Behringer-93 reacted to Netduma Fraser in Utilisation vpn
On the router interface on the HybridVPN page
  22. Confused
Behringer-93 reacted to Netduma Fraser in Utilisation vpn
You would need to purchase a VPN subscription from a VPN provider, one that supports OpenVPN or Wireguard and can provide the config files to you so they can be input into the router to connect.
Clicking to enable doesn't enable it without entering the config/login credentials for the VPN provider you're using.
HybridVPN on the router is a VPN client, like a program you would install on your PC to connect to a VPN so you just need a subscription to a VPN and enter the config file contents into HVPN, enter your credentials and connect.
  23. Confused
Behringer-93 reacted to Netduma Fraser in Utilisation vpn
Open it with notepad, copy the contents, paste into the configuration box on HybridVPN, enter your credentials and connect
  24. Confused
Behringer-93 reacted to Netduma Fraser in Utilisation vpn
Ah, the above it correct. If you're using it on PC you'll have to download their software or download an OpenVPN client and connect that way
