Ok, I'll do best to remembered it. So when it comes to WiFi range and strength in quality they're both about the same?? Can you give me like a % of difference?? Thanks -

I would like to know the difference between WiFi range and strength in the XR500 vs the new R3. I think my XR500 is ''expiring'' because no matter how many resets or installing flashing the latest stable firmware, the WiFi just stop working out of the blue and I have to reboot/restart, turn off then on the router for it to work as it should. The router is 5 years old which I'm told that the lifespan they get of use. I'm thinking into getting a new R3 but there're SEVERAL wireless devices that are important in the house and uses WiFi. Ex: Security cameras (3), Thermostat, etc. Thanks in advance staff.

NEW XR500 BETA FIRMWARE: 3.3.535
CrAzY_V3t3rAn replied to Netduma Lew's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
ok, I appreciate the reply and clarification about UPnP. If I encounter any new issue, I'll let you guy know. Before I go, would I be in a disadvantage by going back to the standard .134 firmware?? Cheers -

I live in Florida. But anyways unfortunately I had to go back to the standard .134 firmware since the router got bricked after a reset due to intermittent internet. I spend the whole day dealing with it, now is good. Besides that Ping Heatmap, I have a more important issue. From default Upnp comes ON correct? So would I benefit more for streaming movies and gaming with it off than on?? And how updated security wise is Upnp in the xr500 .134 firmware?? Thanks in advance. 👍 -

Ping Heatmap not giving correct/accurate ping for the state of Florida for COD. Ping Heatmap is showing 21 ms and in-game I have between 65-75 ms constant. -

XR500 Latest Firmware Doubts
CrAzY_V3t3rAn replied to CrAzY_V3t3rAn's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
After doing more research and messing in Windows, I FINALLY were able to get it to be opened. I just had to enable all the rules for COD HQ and MW3 HQ in Windows Firewall, for some reason there were some enabled and some disabled, did that and BOOM. Nat-Type OPEN in-game. 🤩❤️🙌. I truly appreciate you guys doing your best to help me and troubleshoot the issue with me. 🤝 It was that with regular COD Ports Forwarded, no UPnP, no IPv6, no DMZ. -

XR500 Latest Firmware Doubts
CrAzY_V3t3rAn replied to CrAzY_V3t3rAn's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
1) I did enabled IPv6 on the XR500 using AUTO DETECT like Fraser mentioned. 2) I enabled the portion needed in windows firewall 3) Ran a test using Test-ipv6.com website and the results were 9/10, the one missing says: ''Test if your ISP's DNS server uses IPv6'' = ''TIMEOUT'' 4) Still showing MODERATE in-game. 👎 --- I think it has to do with the ISP. The modem CM1200 doesn't have anything for network settings or tweaks of that nature. Is VERY SIMPLE, unfortunately. -- What you guys think?? -

Good to know, so I just enable ipv6 in the xr500, reboot the router, restart the game and that's it?? At least I have more things to try 🤠 -

When I changed to the 1 gig package, they gave me a modem to use free of monthly charges. That's when I noticed the MODERATE Nat-Type issue in COD. 2 days ago I decided to purchase a new Netgear CM1200 modem and use it with my xr500 upgraded to the latest version. That didn't fixed the issue then did what it was presented here and well you know the rest hahaha -

Hey Zippy, thanks for the reply I didn't asked them directly like that. I told them that after the tests I did (the ones posted above in the link) based on the results I got, it means that I have CG-NAT and the solution for it is you guys (spectrum) to provide me with a static public ip. Tell me how much it will cost me to then move forward with it. And that's when they said what I mentioned in the previous messages above. -

Or if there's a way for me to request the STATIC PUBLIC IP in a different way. Or if you think I'm crewed, you can tell me that too 😂 -
XR500 Latest Firmware Doubts
CrAzY_V3t3rAn replied to CrAzY_V3t3rAn's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
OK, I contacted them and they said that the reason why they can't provide a secure static public IP is because they use a tool that requires the IP and something to do with the PORTS, but none of that can be done because my router is not theirs and they can't have access to it and can only be done if the router is theirs. So they said for me to ask you guys to open the ports or tell me how to do it. 🙈🙄 Can you guide me on how to do proceed with this please? I truly appreciate all the help you've been providing and sorry for the trouble. -

Got you, ok. fudge man, this MTFs. Don't know why this is happening, I've been with them for quite some time but recently I upgraded to the 1 Gig. package and I believe that's when the issue started happening. -

Darn it, even connect it directly to the MODEM, is still showing as MODERATE in-game. So it means I have to contact my ISP?? 😒
