Did you ever manage to get your stuff setup in a way that seemed like an improvement? Also, did sensequality do any windows settings for your internet that you would like to share?

What would you advise for a modem that has built in wifi like a router? I have the Arris DG3450 DOCSIS 3.1 Cable Modem.

Hey Everyone, I just returned to Warzone 2 to try out the ranked mode and I am enjoying it but every day after our first game which we do really well in the next time we que up for a match the search parameters go to really high pings. Its so obvious that SBMM is trying to kick in which I don't mind but its really dramatic in that even if we only drop even 7 kills each and don't even get 1st place our next match is easily searching for lobbies 150+ ping. I tried to use my geo-fence so I wouldn't be forced to play in such a high ping lobby but it won't put me in a match at all. I live on the east coast of USA and I guess there just isn't enough good players around for us to que against? I have been dealing with this non-stop but we just went into a game and the connection/response/latency felt amazing. First game of the day is always an instant que and almost always a great connection that we perform very good in but the following game match making que time does the same thing 150+ easily search. I have not updated my geo-fence routing and etc. in months as I stopped playing warzone for awhile. Are there new settings I can use? Does ranked match making work with geo fence enabled or do I need to vpn for a good connection? I just don't want to be forced into ridiculously high ping lobbies.

Math is not subjective. 10ms is faster than 90ms and that’s a fact. Doesn’t matter how you feel about it.

Even in the name “lag compensation” is the word compensation lol it’s trying to compensate for having a bad connection in comparison to the fast connect because the enemy is ahead of you in real time. Example in mw2 MP if a gun has a 150ms ttk from 3 bullets that means each bullet takes 50ms. You jump around a corner with 10ms ping and you take 320ms to react, that’s a total delay of 330ms from real world time to start shooting. Your enemy on 90ms ping sees you 80ms later they take 290ms to react, that’s a total delay of 380ms from real world time to start shooting. Even though the enemy’s reaction time was 30ms faster than yours they still lose because that 50ms difference in overall delay is enough time for that extra bullet to process and kill them. They reacted faster and still lost to someone with a slower reaction due to connection. That’s a scenario of losing with a higher ping even though you have a faster reaction time. Now imagine the enemy has the same reaction time or god forbid they react faster. For lag compensation lets take the same scenario except this time the 10ms player decided to not shoot because they reacted slow and instead opted to run and dolphin dive behind cover. Let’s say it takes the 10ms ping player 320ms to react again and then it takes them 200ms to get behind cover. Remember 90ms ping player is 80ms in the past but they will see what you did because you didn’t end their existence they still live in your past timeline. It took 10ms player a total of 520ms to react and get behind cover. The 90ms ping player may see it 80ms later but they still seek all of it. They have a total window 520ms to shoot and kill the 10ms player. Even though you’re technically already behind cover, lag compensation will look at this player playing 80ms in the past and see during that 520ms window they took 290ms to react with a 200ms TTK gun totaling 490ms to kill. So 30ms later you will die behind cover due to lag compensation. lag compensation doesn’t give the 90ms player an advantage, it just says if you hit your shots we will let them count even though the enemy technically isn’t there anymore. The 10ms player still has an 80ms advantage over a 90ms player. They can react slower and still win. There is no argument that ping doesn’t help. It definitely does. Im not saying I can’t drop in and get high kill games or win because I can. Last night I completely redid my settings, redid my dns with namebench, redid my adapter with tcp optimizer, and I adjusted my QOS. First warzone match I got on after doing that I got my best connection I have ever had which got me some high 30s and mid 40s. I dropped 15 kills no gulag then died to a player with a nuke skin at the end which is what I was talking about.(I have it recorded) You can run through an entire lobby but to win more consistently, a lower ping would help.

Thank you for sharing what they use for Audio optimization. Do you mind sharing what settings/setup you had to do for those apps/softwares? Currently I am using Corsair wireless rgb virtuoso.(I can plug them up but never do, maybe I will start using a cord). with my Corsair headset I use Dolby atmos with all the sliders up so I’m not reducing anything I just boosted everything treating it more like an amp then I am using sound lock to limit the audio so it’s not killing my ears. I was using theatre like everyone has been saying to use but I’m swapping back and forth with headset because theatre sometimes I just too quiet for me. going to look into using APO. I downloaded it before but never got it running efficiently

having a lower ping would help. thats exactly what a lower ping does
-
Well when I have ambition to drop nukes in wz2 50s isn’t too great as I will need to be able to win against the really low ping players more consistently. I still have good games and decent kd but I feel very limited by connection currently. Looking up all kinds of stuff rn to test out later when I’m home.

I will say I also nerf my upload a little by streaming sometimes I mean what good is a 20 kill win with no video lol
-
Interesting. I also have a lot of devices on my network though but I’ll keep in mind after following the guides mentioned by the mod I will test sliders off for comparison. Unfortunately my ping is pretty bad lol as my BEST lobbies in warzone 2 are in the 50s. Maybe 1 out of 30 I will get 45 to 52 but that’s usually later in the match when players are gone and it stabilizes. I think warzone 2 is just unoptimized. The map is gigantic with too much clutter, objects, tons of AI, then 5 ai helicopters, all the stronghold events, and etc. really eating up. I used to play an mmo that was really bad desync and lag wise like warzone 2 is and they reduced all monsters in the game by 40% to help optimize the game so I know ai and etc has an impact.

Hey thank you! I will follow these later when I am on the computer. Good to know it helps us low connection people cuz I feel like I need it lol If I notice anything different after these guides I’ll let you know

There is an unfair advantage to getting better equipment and you contradicted that later by saying 15ms monitor has advantage against 160ms tv. Yea and that’s ok and all but it still isn’t fair lol you may say in the scenario it’s fair because both players have the option to buy a monitor and upgrade their internet but not everyone has those options and regardless if two opponents are against each other with different equipment and one has better it is unfair. Which I know that’s what you said and mention that’s how life works I agree. I was just pointing out recognizing the past before all the hardware advancements we used to have a lot more fair online gaming where skill stood out more. that’s ok though idk why these guys are taking it as a personal attack even I can recognize I have unfair advantages that’s life. Life isn’t fair. lol most things I’m saying apply to me as well like I said idk why they are taking it personal I was just sharing a statement or observation on the state of online gaming while telling that guy thank you for sharing his experience yet he seemed to take it negatively idk. and im well aware of cod match making going out of its way to make my connection worse because I perform well. My BEST lobbies are in the 50s and if I let normal match making do it’s thing I will be getting 70s to 90s while iM on the east coast I will be playing mid west or west coast every game so the game can do everything in its power to keep me average in stats. That’s why I’m here to improve

Who blamed you? I literally blamed the competitive business of ISPs( trying to get money.) And what you’re calling fair is actually unfair if everyone doesn’t have it is my point. Yea the game net code etc is crap but if you’re doing things that your opponents aren’t doing to improve it then it is unfair. Not saying what you’re doing is unethical or morally wrong. Not saying you or the router developers are bad people lol we are all (including myself) going to do our best to get our best performance. Just reading it all saddened me cuz it used to be a lot more fair in the past before ISPs starting offering various services and new construction brought different hardware etc.
-
Your last statement “they’re on the cusp of something great” I know is in good spirit but it’s actually not great; it’s sad. The reality is all this extra crap is unfair. You’re literally saying your hit reg was off on 7 ping fiber, do you think your opponents have these settings you’re claiming helps your hit reg? Used to boot up halo 2/3 and most people in the world were using standard basic internet with the modem/router their isp gave them. Nowadays internet varies massively. One person can have only 1 option such as myself where I live and some people may not be able to afford the highest speeds. Now we have fancy routers, port knowledge, different speeds, sbmm, different system latencies, and etc. Don’t get me wrong it’s not the router developers it’s all part of the isp competing. I too am happy to have access to more control over my connections but I wish it all wasn’t necessary. Internet and hardware is such a big part of the battle now especially in games like wz2 with little skill gap, no movement, and super fast ttk making connection matter more than ever. Thanks for your sharing your experience with settings though. I only get 55 down and 12 up. Lol
-
Hey, Unfortunately, my isp only offers 1 service where I live and it’s 50 down 10 up. I do manage to get speeds of 55 down and 12 up but with so little to work with I don’t want to be using the wrong QoS settings. I know my internet is trash and the new warzone 2 is really really bad. Curious what we’re y’all’s best server pings in warzone 1 compared to warzone 2? In wz1 I could get 30s and 40s but in wz2 the best servers are still averaging 55 then if I am lucky that server might stabilize later in the match going for 45 to 52 or so but it’s super rare. It’s been really hard to enjoy the game with the skill gap being closed and the optimizations being so bad. It’s funny reading people in the community with fiber going out there way to do extra for their already super fast internet or complaining about their ridiculous speed. lol y’all are lucky. Got people like me in your lobby that can’t even force a connection below 55. With the game being so slow movement wise and the TTK being so fast I feel like internet speed matters more than it ever has as I can’t make up for the bad connections with skill. In wz1 I was able to get good connections with VPNs and I can still get local server connections when I do the VPNs but the connections end up being higher now. More in the 70s which isn’t worth. Id much rather go against good players on 50ping than a bot when I’m on 70. It’s been boring and I really don’t even play at this point other than logging in a few games to test new router settings.
