    I. never realised that selling a house was so complicated, my late moms house had 30 viewings in 7 days and we got a buyer at the asking price, now the paper work has come through and they are asking if we are leaving the light switches and electrical sockets?????? WTF, who takes the light switches and electrical sockets. ??????

maazsk97 got a reaction from Netduma Fraser in [SOLVED] Windows 10 version 1903 Google Chrome high CPU usage at start up
Yesterday after starting up my PC and playing a few games I noticed that literally every game that I play was stuttering and I was getting fps drops. I opened up task manager and noticed that a Chrome process was utilizing about 50-70% of the CPU. I opened file location of the process and it led to the Chrome directory folder. I ended the process and my CPU usage went back to normal but whenever I start up my pc this process is always there utilizing CPU at start up unless ended and after that it never starts up again until next start up. I have noticed about 6-7 Chrome processes at start up but only one of them is utilizing the CPU and other processes hardly use any system resources.
I suspected it to be some sort of virus and to rule that out I uninstalled Chrome and after that this issue seems to be fixed. No more high CPU usage at start up. I even scanned my pc with Malwarebytes and Windows defender but no viruses were detected. Not sure what is going on but if someone has ever faced this issue then what did you do to fix it? Thank you.
Edit: Finally found a fix. turns out it was the Google update service causing the issue. Disabling that at startup seems to have fixed the issue.

Hi - Ping Assist is on the latest version of DumaOS. Please make sure you on the latest firmware. http://forum.netduma.com/forum/106-latest-firmwares/
As for Geo-Filter on Rainbow 6, there should be a workaround. Could you to Device Manager and set your PC's device type to a console e.g. Xbox. Then go back to the Geo-Filter, delete the PC if you already added it. Then re-add it again. It should now display hosts etc.

    Hi everyone,

With the increase in activity on the forum that we are likely to see with the launch of DumaOS we thought it apt to bolster our forum staff. Therefore we have decided to add 3 new moderators to the team. They are all old school DumaArmy members and have recently been a lot more active on the forum giving support to those who need it outside the Netduma working hours.

So please join me in welcoming & congratulating
iAmMoDBoX BIG__DOG pollutionblues on becoming our new moderators!

As is no doubt immediately obvious, we have upgraded the forum. This upgrade is very important as it will allow us to add a lot more features to improve the community experience.
One small change that will affect some of you is that Display Names and Login Names have now been merged. So from now on please use your display name to login. Your password will be unchanged.
Files are still being loaded in the background throughout today so there will still be some functionality that is to come. Also our web artist will be redesigning the colours to give it that Netduma look and feel so don’t be surprised when it all gets a lot darker and redder in here!

Let us know what you think and if there is anything you would like us to improve.
    Thanks for your support,

maazsk97 reacted to Netduma Luke in Announcement: DumaOS on Netduma R1 in Final Beta Testing
We have some good news to share: DumaOS for the Netduma R1 is now in the final stages of beta testing!
As many of you know, this has taken so much longer than we anticipated, but our developers have now resolved all the major issues. This means that DumaOS for the R1 is stable and crucially, backwards compatible, so you can go back to the original R1 firmware if you prefer. A big thank you to all the beta testers who worked tirelessly with us to get to this point.
We are tidying up some last loose ends to make it ready for full release. We will let you know it is ready to download across all our media platforms. Be sure to sign up to the DumaOS mailing list so you are the first to know when it's out.
    Stay tuned!

maazsk97 reacted to Mechcondrid in is the dumos update out for the netduma r1 yet?
well considering there has been no news at all from any of them other than what amounts to "we're working on it" in months and at the same time touting the xr500 to boost sales someone needs to give some meaningful info.

and while we know you guys "can't speak for the development team" you can certainly speak TO them and tell them to give some kind of statement or to relay one from them; silence is not acceptable considering that multiple times statements were made and then failed to follow through on and then no info as to why they failed other than some vague answer about getting the bugs out or some such with no real info behind it.

honestly someone on the net duma side needs to say SOMETHING with substance or i could easily forsee a class action for false advertising or deceptive practices among other things.

the fact that the update is (or at least has been promised; yet to see it obviously but the xr500 seems to have gotten it just fine) going to be provided to r1 buyers for free is irrelevant until that actually happens, its been promised (just like the beta, which didn't really happen) again and again and yet we still have jack squat. meanwhile the xr500 has it running just fine; if the hardware difference is that insurmountable (which isnt that hard to imagine if in fact that is a factor at all; would have to see code but you shouldn't NEED 1.7ghz to run firmware in most cases) then it should have been stated up front and not used as a selling point (another point that would lend to a class action BTW).

honestly i want this thing to succeed but it seems that either management or the dev team is determined to not want this or care about it (which is the direct consequence of not giving any meaningful statements; people have no way to know or think otherwise when there is no communication)

If a game has bad servers, it has bad servers. No router is gonna fix bad servers and anyone who buys a Duma thinking it'll fix bad servers is a complete idiot tbh.
This person would clearly have no idea, even the basics of networking.

No it would only show you the quality of your connection to that IP address. Given their distance from you as well it wouldn't be very good anyway. See if they can run ping plotter themselves or contact their ISP

Sir you are wrong to say "people need to relax because they received what they paid for when it came to the Netduma R1 Gaming Router."
They have been advertising the R1 router that includes a free DumaOS update for quite some time .If you included the Free item as part of your advertising of said product, you must deliver. Its that simple. Here is a perfect example. Video cards come with free games every once in a while. Would they be able to get away with not giving you the "free game" as promised ?  I don't think so.

Why this is overlooked by people who post otherwise baffles me.

Let be accurate, The most recent announcement is another misleading part to the history of the Netduma R1. Its deceiving the way this company back tracks on these things , multiple times I might add and  its been happening for quite some time.

I don't believe the backwards compatibility aspect of the statement at this point. I have had firmware updates in the past from other devices that couldn't revert back to the previous firmware. All they did was state up front that the upgrade is not reversible. So this IMO is BS.

No offense, but sticking up for a company with the reasons you mentioned makes me wonder if your have hit your head on something recently. I hope you feel better.

One thing you can do if you still have wifi problems on the R1, disable the R1s wifi radio and install either a router configured for LAN to LAN AP mode and use it's upgraded wireless as your wifi, or install a wireless client device that would give same wifi features, and keep the R1 working as your main host router. You could even install a wireless MESH system as well. Something to consider later on.

Hmm alright. Try changing the security mode to PSK2 in settings > WiFi. There's also a chance nearby wireless devices are causing interference. Try moving any wireless devices away from the router.

I'd also recommend a hard reset. To do this, switch off the modem and Netduma. Wait 5 minutes then turn on the Modem. Wait another minute then turn on the Modem.

As a workaround for Rainbow 6, you could use powerline adapters (if you're using WiFi for it due to the layout of your house  etc). This can transfer a wired Ethernet connection through your electrics rather than you having to stretch a cable across your house.
