  1. ah yep can do. I'll grab them tonight when I have a spare moment.
  2. Ah just tried guest network doesn't work either. and literally any device, phones, computers, laptops, tv nothing can connect to it. All time out or connect then just doesn't work.
  3. I actually tried 20 and 40 as well as combined. No dice it's just failed :(
  4. just thought I'd add. I have tried multiple bands and frequencies, done fresh firmware installs tried everything I can think of. it's for the most part worked fine since I got it. But whenever I connect to the 5ghz channel It connects and is fine for about 3-5 minutes then boots my devices off it and simply doesn't work. Been doing some reading and yeah I think my unit has just prematurely failed which is odd as it's not that old but I do wonder if it has anything to do with the failed RGB which definitely did work properly once and now day by day is getting worse. Hoping the team can help me out Fraser haha I can't afford a new router at the moment.
  5. @Netduma Fraser Hey mate, hope you're well. Just thought id follow up on this one. See if there were any updates? Also is there a plan to upgrade the R3 or introduce the R4? I don't imagine you'd be able to spill any beans on this one but unfortunately my R3 is giving up on life. I can't for the life of me connect to 5Ghz it just stopped working 2 days ago and now no matter what I change it too in terms of channel or bandwidth or even factory resetting it. Nothing seems to be able to bring it back to life so I have had to plug in my old xr1000 as my daily driver in the meantime but yeah it's kind of just died on me which is odd. That and the RGB issues I'm hoping I don't have to purchase another R3
  6. Copying your settings my rgb doesn’t change still green/ yellow/ brown but it’s white at the edges.
  7. That’s odd if yours is displaying white on purple that points to an entirely different issue but I’ll try that tonight and see if I get the same result problem is that mine has different lights throughout when it shouldn’t
  8. Sure if you need me to do anything just let me know happy to help try solve this in anyway. would really love plain white rgb just some room luminance.
  9. Okay so I can report my 5ghz seems to be fixed after the 3rd factory reset so functionality wise we are good again. but yeah the rgb still not working I tried some other colours too and they are all off. definitely my rgb has died not the end of the world but still annoying haha I can live without it but yeah I don’t think it can be fixed unless there is a specific bug on latest firmware causing it. i can take a bunch of photos if you’d like show casing how they are all off if you want?
  10. Yeah so changing the saturation unfortunately doesn’t change anything. i can live with it probably just turn off the lighting not quite sure what’s going on. if I had to guess it looks like the controller which is sending the rgb signals is failing - a tad odd given I haven’t used rgb on it every. But it’s displaying very similar effects to what I see on failing computer rgb fans where either the controller is going or the LEDs themselves some have blown out or failing. As for the signal I do have them split and 2.4 is fine. But on 5.0 it has been happening like every 3 minutes sometimes I can’t even get through a speed test. Both my laptops and my phone disconnect from them and when I try to connect it pops up either saying incorrect password or connection timed out. I have factory reset the router several times it seems sort of okay now but I don’t want to say it’s fixed and have it happen in a day or two but has been stable tonight at least.
  11. That’s using the hex code for white
  12. Yeah it’s like yellow and green. shame as I have had the lighting turned off since I got it. but yeah also my 5ghz band keeps randomly dropping out. I checked to make sure it hadn’t been weirdly set to a dfs channel but it hadn’t. my 2.4 is fine though. curious what was the warranty on these ? I imagine I’m probably just outside now since I got it on pre order
  13. Hey Fraser, been awhile hope you’re well mate. yeah I tried that mine is green. I just factory reset my router as my 5ghz keeps on dropping out too annoyingly. It’s been stable for .. well years. ill take a photo when i get home a bit later and upload it. I think my r3 is dying :(
  14. I have had the RGB on the unit set to off for a long time infact since I got the unit. I am not one for RGB however, I was hoping we would be able to set it to plain white? But when I do it's like bluey green. I can get a photo later but I just thought i'd ask as i'm sure Fraser or somebody can confirm if the unit can do pure white or if my rgb is faulty. Just looking to add a bit of white luminance to my room when it's darker was my thought behind it was all. Cheers
  15. Ah good to know. Glad i'm all setup. By the way new firmware seems solid from my testing.
  16. So I set this up.. well whenever the R3 came out. Just want to check myself and make sure I have it configured optimally. I have the R3 at one end of my house connect to my ISP directly. I then have an ethernet cord running from my R3 to my XR1000 and have the XR1000 setup in Wireless AP mode. Currently I have both routers using the same name hoping my devices swap seamlessly if I move around my house like on my phone/ laptop. Is this the best way to do it? or should I have independent network names? or Should I be configuring this some other way? Also does anybody know if the XR1000 is just abandoned with firmware? I guess it doesn't matter if it's just in Wireless AP Mode? Sad though
  17. Been awhile, thought i'd check back in. May I please be added to the beta testing group
  18. Right, so I have to use my default DNS on my router through my Service Provider? So I'm better off setting up Next DNS on each of my devices in the meantime? Fraser ! next update going to be ages away, get the devs to chuck this feature in
  19. So was just tinkering as I do and want to setup NextDNS on my router. I have changed the IPv4 address to NextDNS pretty straightforward, but notice that there is nowhere to change IPV6 DNS Address? Is it located somewhere else or am I being silly or not understanding something?
  20. Okay great well in that case might give it a while without my browser blockers and see how it goes. I have YouTube premium so no need for Adblock. Do people use YouTube and skip ads without premium? I’ll have to look into that could save myself a fortune each month haha
  21. Been enjoying the latest. update, but was curious if somebody could take the time to explain the Adblock feature. I use ad-guard on my apple devices and ublock origin on windows OS. Does this work similar to Brave browser where it prevents ads and popups before the browser level Adblock add-on would? like just stop it loading and speeds up my browser? would love clarification on how it works exactly and does this mean I can get rid of my other Adblock as they are redundant? Also noticed it breaks my appletv but I live in Aus and its when im trying to watch livetv so thats fine I turned it off on that device. Does it slow the router down or any negative side effects? Cheers
  22. Thanks for all the replies appreciate it
  23. OMG I am such a dummy. I just mis-read what you were saying. I flashed my firmware last night and wanted to take another look at this so called phantom device. So this time it showed up as my chromecast device which was connected to my XR1000 in AP mode. But I have the same wireless names. So indeed anything connected to my XR1000 shows up as a Lan connection. It would be cool if they could modify the interface at one point to show it being connected off the actual AP device appose to a wired connection which it isn't.... @Netduma Fraser Any chance this could be achieved as a low priority feature requested for a future update? or is it a limitation of being connected to an AP. So you were indeed 100% correct. I now have everything named and identified correctly - case closed. Also to avoid creating a new thread. Though I can if that's appropriate. Annoying most of my devices are connecting to my XR1000 due to it simply having stronger and faster connection practically anywhere in my house. But since it's a great router It does lead me to another follow up question, I have my xr1000 in AP mode downstairs other end of my house, the R3 in my office for the other half. As I understand it. A device in AP mode essentially passes all the traffic back to the R3 for it to process. As we have seen the R3 if you have a lot of devices can eat into the available CPU power quite a bit. Since the XR1000 is a powerhouse hardware wise. Would I be better off taking it out of AP mode and letting the devices in my garage be handled by it? For example have a bunch of my wife's "smart appliances, we had to buy" in the garage connected to my XR1000 and a chromecast etc for the guest bedroom tv. Just wondering if I could set it up so both devices operate off same wifi name. Enabling my WiFi devices to connect to the nearest/fastest AP. However balance the workload by letting them both operate and handle network traffic? My gaming PC most important in the house is Ethernet to R3 so it doesn't effect me at all. Also Are you supposed to DMZ another router that's acting as an AP? Like should I DMZ my XR1000? - Sorry learning so much about networking stuff through this forum so figured why not ask.
  24. It's really not a big deal. I know it's kind of an experimental feature but having the ability to toggle which devices it runs on/ off is great and solved my issue. I did have another question regarding how it works though as I couldn't find the specific information. I'll keep looking but. Most people run adblockers on their devices/ browsers. So for example I know brave has an adblock built in at it's core level to stop ads from loading in the first place. Does this work in a similar way except just at the router/ network level meaning my browser would no longer block the ad? I assume that's how it would function which is cool. Additionally, I use Ublock which obviously has a list of blocked things and the way it works. Does Netduma create it's own or are you utilising an existing adblock service for this feature?
  25. The update seems to have installed and worked alright. I am seem to be having an issue with ping optimiser/ buffer bloat like several people here. One thing i have noticed. If I manually set my speeds and turn off bypass and enable always on. My connection isn't shaped at all. Not sure if I need to hit apply somewhere but I can't see a button to do so. Also getting B scores in waveform. If I set it to auto it sets at 99%dl/100% upload which seems off to me. But I can't manually test it because it doesn't seem to respond to the values I manually input. I tried to do 60% I do have 1000/50 connection speed. Which in reality is 940/47 but when I manually set connection to say 75% I still get 940/47 Kind of cramming two things in here. But if I want to use cloudfare DNS is this the correct way to set that up?
