Yes it's likely you still would because the slowdown occurs on the R1 so any devices even a router behind it would get the speed the R1 can provide. Better to do it the other way around with modem > router handling PPPoE (with WiFi off and R1 in DMZ) > R1. Then all devices connected to the R1 would receive the proper speeds.

yeah it is something they need to do on their end, but they are adamant it's turned off, even though I can still see the SSIDs of the signals. I'm just accepting it now and trying to save up enough to get a XR300 to then use with the openreach modem.

It's very strange, I think it might be something we need to test ourselves in the lab.

Yes it does, just like the XR500 it's only for 2.4GHz but not 5GHz. It doesn't have smart connect though I don't think.

That's a good use case, thanks for the insight. Couldn't say when a feature like this would be released unfortunately.

Nothing stopping us doing this - so it's good to know you'd be interested in a new router from us.

There are sort clips on the underside, if you have tweezers you can sort of pry it free. You may have to use more force than you think is necessary but it should then come apart undamaged.

It is quite a trooper, I've moved it to a different part of the house now to see if it improves.

Just to let ya' know, I've escalated it to the developers and it's been added to our internal testing system. Hopefully this can be resolved soon though I'm afraid I can't put an estimate on it.

Thanks Jack, I'll sit tight for now then but if I find anything else I'll let you know.

I wouldn't put much stock in the in-game ping test; that's relying on the server quality and any input delay on top. If it hasn't been suggested already,
I don't doubt you though, I feel like maybe there's some miscommunication going on with these streaming sticks and DumaOS. It's odd that they're recognised by the Device Manager, yet they seem to cause problems nontheless. I reckon judging by what you found on page 1 and the pingplotter results, we could probably troubleshoot this problem. I believe our testing team is aware of this but I'll make sure they see it again
Thank you for your patience on this!

No worries, completely understand how difficult this would be to sort. It's just reassuring knowing you're attempting a fix. I appreciate the update.

We're working on overhauling the entire settings area to offer something more substantial and rock solid. As soon as we have a build ready for you to test, we'll get it sent over to you guys to try out. Please bare with us - we realise it's frustrating to have these drops but it's very hard for us to debug as virtually no one else is having it beyond the reports from both you and George

It seems related to DHCP so not sure if it's a hardware issue and therefore something we should be able to fix in a firmware update, they are looking into it so hopefully they'll find the cause. Developers will let you know if they need any more information.
Those are related to XR500 so for Netgear to fix or from the old R1 firmware which was likely a different issue as it doesn't seem as prevalent on DumaOS.

yeah, gave all 24 devices static IP's it didn't make a difference. The weirdest part about it is I don't even need to restart the Duma or anything to fix it, all I do is change the WiFi channel and it comes back. I end up rotating through channels 1,6 and 11.

So I was previously having WiFi issues and recently removed my BT Smart Hub from my set up and now just have the Duma plugged into an Openreach Modem. Everything was working great until this evening where all my WiFi dropped again, I've pasted what the system log said at the time. The fix is super simple all I have to do is change the WiFi channel on the duma to a different channel, 6, and then go back to the one I was on, 11, that was suggested by a network analyser. As I'm sure you can understand I dont want to really be doing that constantly.

    Any Ideas?

That's what I have mine set at that's why its every Thursday. I have had this issue since the last Original R1 update 1.03.6j
This was my original thread. Everytime it goes down that "user.warn com.netdumasoftware.settings: Error opening wireless-mirror with error wireless-mirror: No such file or directory." is always there along with DHCP issues and RSN handshakes being incomplete.

It was indeed through a powerline adaptor. I can try and give it a go tomorrow straight from the router.

Remote access is not currently available on DumaOS but I believe it will be implemented in the future.

So done some digging into this with PingPlotter, definitely something up with the fire tv.
    Max Down - 80Mbps
    Max Up - 20Mbps
I actually get these speeds to, averaging between 76-79mbps and 17-19Mbps
I hope this image makes sense to you guys, tried to make it as simple as possible.
