S13 reacted to Netduma Alex in VPN Netduma R1 Router Nat Type
In a game where the Geo-Filter works perfectly, you should be able to connect to any region around the world and play with people there.
Currently, Modern Warfare knows where you're actually located and will not match you with people from anywhere else. This is a problem we haven't been able to fix yet, but we're working on it.
Using Geo-Filter may result in a bad NAT type because it may end up blocking the server that the game uses to check your NAT. This will not actually affect your matchmaking.

Yes, you will get open nat. providing your network is configured properly.  Here is a list of the ports required for call of duty. The ports are the same for all of them so even though it displays black ops 4 the ports are the same. Remember to either just use upnp or port forward these ports but never use both at the same time.

why are you using port forwarding and upnp, that will give you issues. 9308 is a port used by playstation. Either add 9308 and 9307 to port forwarding rules or disable upnp.

Okay thank you for the feedback. I'll be sure to pass this on to the team.

Unfortunately due to the unusual way the Division 2 is set up, it looks like it's not possible for DumaOS to control which server you connect to.
The only other thing I could think of would be to use a VPN that's got servers close to where you want to connect from.

Hmm well if all of the european servers are being used by people in the middle east, it might not be possible to filter them out. I guess you want to try connecting to a northern european server, further away from the middle east.

Thanks. I shall try that.  Division 1 has no servers for MiddleEast.  They get connected to Europe servers.

But I will try if I can connect elsewhere as you said.

    Thanks again

The Division 2 is server based, so you're not filtering out players so much as you're filtering out servers. For example, you could set your radius in the Geo-Filter to be in the USA, and then you would be connected to a US server, which would probably be full of US players. Blocking individual Middle Eastern players won't work, instead you'll want to connect to a server outside of the Middle East.

Depending on the game it usually only requires 0.2mbps max so not sure why they want you to have more, that's why dial up still works for games online

Haha that would still do trick. Thanks

Game requires around 500Kbps upload,   50 Kbps will definitely mess Lag compensation up

i will update with my findings.

    I am spooked.  Why ?

Every player I meet from 3rd world countries  who happen to cheapest n worst internet  ever ,  does alot more damage then players with Low Ping n faster internet.   Somehow  Lag compensation  in game  favours those with poor upload speed.

Nothing scientific or conclusive,  nor I am network  engineer  !!!
But I am testing  things.  Netduma  made it possible on  Console.  ( on pc  its known as Net limiter)

Or  3rd world countries got feature for free as their upload  in poor households is usually max 300Kbps . Yes thats right !!!!  Same  Dial Up connection speeds still exist in many poor countries.

I will update.  I think I am on to something big .  Secret Sauce Recipe to Increase  KD 😛

As Big Dog said above, I don't think you can go that low with DumaOS. Just out of curiosity, what on earth would you want to do it for? xD

Hi, welcome to the forum! So first off, on your R1 make sure UPnP is enabled. If it's not getting you an open NAT, you could try port forwarding for the game / console you're on. It's not too hard to port forward stuff, so give it a try
If that doesn't work you might need to put your R1 into the DMZ of your modem (Netgear C3700). To do that, go to System Information on your R1 and find the WAN IP. Copy that number, then go to the DMZ section on your Modem control panel and paste it in the DMZ box.

    1. Set your location to where you want to force the server.
    2. Make sure strict mode is enabled.
    3. Set ping assist to 0.
    4. Make sure fast search is disabled.
    5 Enable filtering mode.
    6. Search for a game (sometimes it can take longer to find a game when forcing a server so be patient)
Make sure you do all these steps before you boot up the game. If you make any adjustments to the geofilter after this then you need to reboot the game.

Yes, UK. I set home location to  Czech republic with 600km radius ,  strict mode ,  ping assist 0.   Usually I get into noob lobbies     why ?  People in Czech & neighbouring poor eu countries aren't  getting so many benefits as in UK, Germany & France to sit home & game all day  & get good.....       ! If I use Vpn , I disable geo filter completely .

    Thanks Fraser,
yes 10 mbps is more than enough. Tried few games  while connected to  Miami,  Florida , USA    , ping was 110-140ms   with 0% packet loss.  Totally different gaming community there & totally different experience.

    *** keeping Torguard.

S13 reacted to Netduma Fraser in Increase ping
Torguard support is right, 10mbps will probably be the max speed through VPN that you get on the router but as you just want it for gaming thats plenty so just apply to the console

If you want to just force the Czech Republic area, you should leave Ping Assist at 0. If you set it any higher then you will be given games nearer the UK (where you’re actually based), so that would include France.
I wouldn’t use a profile - they’re just beginner settings. You have a good understanding of how everything works now so best just to use your judgement from now on.

Well if it's set to spectating mode then it's not filtering at all so the expanding radius wouldn't do anything in that scenario. Can you join each other in a private chat?
