@Netduma FraserGood news! The ping optimizer and speed test are working! Just wanted to share this with you to hopefully help see why it works with this update vs others. Thank you again!
-
Thank you very much! I'll let you know how it goes! Sorry it took so long to respond, I normally get notifications when a reply happens and I didn't for some reason. Have an awesome day!

Hello Netduma team! I was wondering if the ping optimizer is still known not to work after the latest update? It hasn't worked for me since the release of the router. Thanks for any feedback!
-
I have done that. My pc is added and does highlight like it's activating it, but on the activity side, gaming does not highlight, like it's not activated. I have experienced some really bad packet loss while playing rocket league too while I'm home alone and nothing else using the internet.
-
I play on pc. I know that rocket is listed in the server ping tab, but it's not in the game list to select when adding a device to the geo filter. And when I play rocket league SmartBoost doesn't recognize I'm playing a game and it doesn't prioritize my gaming activity.
-
So there's no way to identify rocket league as a game so SmartBoost can prioritize gaming?
-
First I would like to say how thankful for all the improvements made and responding to feedback from us. A while back I requested that rocket league be added to the game list for the geo filter and it has, thanks! That being said, when playing rocket league SmartBoost still doesn't recognize I'm playing a game while playing rocket league therefore I am suffering latency and packet loss a lot. Is there any way to help SmartBokst recognize rocket league as a game so it prioritizes my gaming? I do have my device added amd it is highlighted, but the priority for "gaming" is not. I appreciate any help or feedback.

Thank you very much! I really hope this can happen!

I'm not talking dame data, that was just an example to explain my idea. I'm talking about an app that would show router data, specifically the geo filter data to be able to monitor while gaming without having to keep a web browser open. And thank you for considering the idea!

Just throwing this idea out there for PC users, whether gamers or otherwise. I am a PC gamer and have become accustomed to overlays or similar apps to have open while using software that shows performance of said software. Would this be something doable for Netduma? Being a PC gamer, I play competitive, Esports type games and try to minimize as many resources as possible while playing, hence, not having a web browser open while gaming, which is a huge resource hog. But a small, snapshot type app that could be open while gaming to see the ping, geo filter, traffic, etc. would be very helpful. Thank you in advance for any feedback.

I will do my best to watch the network activity next time I see the heavy unknown usage. Thank you!

Thank you very much, I'll give that a try!

I noticed there is a firmware update for the R3, v4.0.23 My router has v4.0.21.I want to update the router but the option in settings is grayed out. How do I force or manual update the router?
-
Okay so next question.... How would I remove devices that arent offline?
-
I think that worked, thanks guys!

I was wondering if there is a way to clear the device list in any of the settings, specifically within the geo filter devices? I have multiple devices with the same name due to using different connections and neither named device has specific info to differentiate one from the other. For example, my pc name is dad's pc. It is showing up multiple times in the list but I don't know which one is active. Is there a way to purge the list or remove devices from a list? If not I suggest incorporating a means to. Thank in advance for any help.
-
@Netduma FraserI unfortunately did not look in the network activity tab. I wish I would've. But I forgot to mention, when I was watching the activities graph, I saw multiple things pop up like, Microsoft showing a .1 usage which isn't significant, but what did alarm me was tiktok showing up as an activity. It's just me and my wife, we do not have tiktok, why would tiktok be showing up as an activity? This worries me a lot.
-
I was curious how my traffic was and wanted to see what might be using bandwidth and when I went into SmartBoost the activities graph showed an "unknown" device or app using over 100Mbp sometimes shooting into the 200s. I went into my device manager to see if a device there had activity and none of them did. Actually, there isn't anything in my device manager that isn't unknown. I looked at the priority list and device list in SmartBoost and saw the xbox was online but it didn't show that in the device manager. I am confused what might be going on. Any idea as to what happening here?

ohh ok, that makes sense then. I was playing Rocket League, which isnt on the list. I did request that the game be put on the list, if not for anything but to recognize a game being played and activate my priority list, that would be very helpful. But what was activated was the livestream priority when I was playing. Why would that happen? -
I'm not sure how long you've had a netduma router, but since the r1, that has been the whole point of the geo filter. To prevent players with high ping from joing your games or prevent you from joining high latency servers.

If I understand correctly, did you port forward your console then allocate a certain bandwidth for it?
