Alex
Yea this is just bad. I was playing solo for about 10 games and everything was perfect. As soon as two of my buddies joined, it was get 4 hit markers and instadeath. I don't understand how it can be so different when it's the same host (Kansas dedicated server). My ping is exactly the same when I play solo and when I'm in a party. So aggravating.
JConnor
We will connect via xbox live on two separate subnets. Then we will emulate WAN links on different players and see the result. So far the results are very conclusive. But I'll wait till I pulish videos mate. I look forward to it However, far too many of us are having experiences where even with a low(est) ping, we are still getting our asses handed to us for no discernible and/or logical reason. Another poster gave the "classic" example of going face to face with an enemy, unloading an entire magazine on them, getting hit markers, but the enemy NOT dying while they shoot what appears to be one shot that kills us and they keep on going. This is with two full bar connections. This is not a "behind the wall kill", or "lag kill". This is head on, no wonky camera angles, or other factors except the netcode itself and possibly the flinch mechanic built into the game. Also, something I hope your tests will shed light on is why is it that players with "bad" (yellow, red bar; jitter, etc.) connections are always the top of the leader boards over players with 30ms pings and solid green connections?
