poseidon
Hello I have a quick question about MTU. I did a test from my laptop to determine my optimal MTU (as described here http://www.dslreports.com/faq/5793) andcame up with 1472+28=1500. In what device do I input this number? Im connected like this modem->Asus rouer->Netduma R1->PS4 Asus router already have MTU=1500, but on R1 and PS4 it is set to auto. Should I change these? Netduma Staff Netduma Crossy Posted November 21, 2015 Netduma Staff Share Posted November 21, 2015 If it is set to auto I believe this means it will be 1500. You could enter this anyway but it probably won't make a difference

procreate
there is something wrong with the MTU, i have been messing with it this firmware release. sometimes on auto you dont get full speeds and switching to manual does... which in turn stops working and need to swtich back. IF you are experiencing low speeds of what you pay for its worth trying to change. its the WAN MTU you want to mess with. you can even go check your speeds and fragmenting to see if its working. when my speeds drop there is usually a 1-2% retransmit, when working full speed its 0%. in your case you just might want the LAN MTU.... i didnt realise you put another router in line... i try to avoid that always.
